The most used sound and therefor most recognizeable is the Taurus sound, a really low fat bass sound with some great sweeping modulation over the top.
But there is more….The Tuba and bass sounds are both really useable sounds even though they don´t have that character like the Taurus sound has.

This consists of a throaty roar, gradually decaying to a rounded purr as the pedal is held down.
I have no measurements to illustrate the frequencies that the Taurus reaches, but these kind of sub-sonics are beyond the scope of any digital synth that I've come across, and even put a lot of good analogue ones to shame.
Maybe sustained pedal bass notes aren't fashionable at the moment, but the Taurus is capable of a wonderful range of chunky 'sequencer' sounds which my fists just can't play fast enough.

I use a pedal board that encompases an old Morley Power Wah Fuzz pedal to an old MXR 10 band EQ to a Bass Whammy pedal and from there to an original vintage Electrohamonix Bass Synthesizer and old Korg PME pedal board which has a phaser, a compressor, analog delay and a chorus.
From there it goes into a Boss Bass Overdrive and a Boss Analog delay and that signal gets fed into a DI box which is split and goes to the PA system and the whole Amp system is DI’d and miked.
I also use two original Moog Taurus Bass pedals synthesizers that were used back in the 70’s by UK, RUSH and Genesis.

 Is the Taurus the only Pedal Synthesizer?
I recently found an old organ with organ pedals and discovered how fun it was to play a bass line with my feet while i play my songs on guitar and sing.
I really want some sort of pedal synth, but from my research this past hour it seems the taurus is either the best one or the only one available.
this did loads of lovely basses and worked for me. a friend offered me a Kenton Pro One MIDI/CV converter and I was then able to play a Minimoog from a set of MIDI pedals - evan better for those Taurus Plus noises.

Hi,I have a set of moog taurus 2 bass pedals which a fellow musician would like to buy.
Love the sounds..it's enough for me just to have a complete, functioning set of Taurus pedals..the whole approach to analogue is fascinating..so much more interesting than digital..Like Jeremy, cannot get the aftertouch function to work from the pedal board..so notes cutout at note-off point..any advice..cheers Glen.
The previous writer with a short cutuff on his bass notes can switch on sustain, or adjust decay, or flip the VCA mode swtich to contour(for a natural sounding decay) or bypass(for eternal sustain).
