 tautonymy
tautonymy - in taxonomy, the use of the same word for the name of a genus-group taxon and for one of its included species or subspecies
The starting point, that is the time from which these Codes are in effect (usually retroactively), varies from group to group, and sometimes from rank to rank.
The value of the binomial nomenclature system derives primarily from its economy, its widespread use, and the stability of names it generally favors: Every species can be unambiguously identified with just two words.

 Wordie: Tautonym
Cole's use of "tautonym" is that it goes against my sense of what a word is, and what makes a word.
Words are, essentially, composed of morphemes and phonemes, and it is with respect to these that the established understanding of tautonymy (a name based on repetition) applies.
But it was very nice of you, oroboros, to take the trouble to ask the source, and of Mr.

 Genus: Details
When I dealt with this matter in 1934 I realized that, not being an originally included species, Papilio aconthea could not be the type-species of this genus and stated that the type-species was Aconthea primaria Horsfield, that being both an originally included species and also the species commonly identified with Papilio aconthea Cramer.
I still however had the confused idea that the Principle of Absolute Tautonymy was applicable in this case, whereas in fact it was not, Horsfield not having cited the nominal species Papilio Aconthea Cramer as an included species.
The fact that I then definitely specified Aconthea primaria as the type-species makes that species the type-species by selection by myself in the passage referred to above.
