A printing press can be found in the Tawang monastery, where many religious books are printed on local paper and wooden blocks, usually meant for literate Monpa Lamas, who use it for their personal correspondence and conducting religious rituals.

Itanagar, Feb 19: Heavy snowfall in many areas of Tawang and West Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh for the past few days left stranded a cultural troupe of famed 'yak and lion dancers', who were on way to the state capital to perform during the 19th statehood day celebrations on February 20, an official said.
Deputy Commissioner of Tawang district Kapa Kholie told that he has made arrangements for bringing the troupe back to Tawang and weather permitting the artistes, now stranded at one point of snow-covered Bhalukpong-Tawang road will be brought to Itanagar today.
Kholie said heavy snowfall since February 15 disrupted traffic to the famous Sella Pass and lake and caused road block on a seven km stretch Betwn Jang and Jaswantgarh in Tawang district.
