Taxodium Ascendens Trees: The Taxodium Ascendens species, often confused with Bald Cypress, is smaller than the Bald Cypress.
The bark is grayish to reddish brown and is usually deeply furrowed.
The Taxodium Ascendens also can live on sandy floodplains, as does the common Bald Cypress.
