As the church grew, the need to be under a spiritual covering became necessary, and in 1988, the church of our Savior, Philippines affiliated herself with the Philippines General Council Of The Assemblies Of God (AG).
The vision to spread God's Kingdom beyond Ilocos Region was caught in early 1992, thus a church was planted in the neighboring province of Abra.
By the end of 2004, we plan to add another church in Tayum, Abra.

Abra had the finest horses in the country at that time and it had a lot of them, so the Mexican horse(which actually originated from the Arabian horse brought to Spain by the Moors when they occupied Spain) gained a place in the province's emblem.
When Diego Silang was slain, his wife Gabriela Silang and her army retreated to Abra and she continued the struggle from there until she was captured and hanged by the Spanish in 1763.
Abra at that time was only accessible by outsiders thru the Abra River gap in Santa, Ilocos Sur, because the province is literally enclosed by mountain ranges.

Tayum Mayor Rogelio Elvena reported that, in November of last year, 20 residents of barangay Gaddani complained to him of nausea, headache and chest pain, shortly after workers dismantled the pipelines and tanks of the CRC plant.
Nora Benavides of the Abra Provincial Office said that chemicals contained in the tanks were spilled when the workers were dismantling the pipes and tanks.
In Abra, there was even a plan by the North Luzon Growth Quadrangle to create the Abra Agro-Industrial Economic Zone in the CRC plant.

TAYUM, Abra — The non-formal education program (NFE) of the Department of Education - Tayum District continues to push its program for the sustained livelihood projects of women despite the absence of funds.
In an interview with Cresencia Valeros, NFE Coordinator of Tayum District, it was learned that the NFE program of the department no longer has special funds for the conduct of livelihood trainings.
However, due to persistent requests from the women particularly the mothers of the pupils in the various elementary schools in the district, she went all the way to pursue the training-workshops even without fund support with the end goal of eradicating poverty and its ill-effect which is malnutrition.

Elvena said that rumors are spreading in Abra that Reyes is seeking refuge in his midst, because the mayor guaranteed the temporary release of the suspect when he was caught for alleged illegal possession of firearm in October 2005.
The mayor, however, explained that the temporary release of Reyes was for him to attend to urgent jobs as barangay chairman and that he was later turned over to the police.
