He told me to use Tazorac over the night and in the morning use regular vaseline (protleum jelly however you spell it) he told me that tazorac and vaseline work amazing together..

The Tazorac is powerful stuff, which is why I was switched to it after Differin had minimal effect on my acne.
After steady usage of Tazorac for a little under 2 months, in addition to 3 microdermabrasion treatments I found that my acne condition had subsided to the point where I no longer use ANY of the acne treatments proscribed to my by my doctor.
Sensitive skins probably cannot handle Tazorac and people with very low discomfort/pain thresholds or who make a living off of their appearance and cannot afford a few weeks worth of noticeable flaking should not take Tazorac.

I tried a sample of Tazorac and after one application I freaked.
Derms seem to push this ointment as a good treatment for psoriasis, but I have not personally encountered even one solitary sufferor who was helped by it.
I have found it to be less irritating then the gel, but not quite as effective.

I use tazorac (the cream not the gel), retin-a micro and take yasmin which i think is beiginning to kick in in the fourth month!
04-06-2003, 06:22 PM Yeah i've been reading up on TAzorac at various medical web sites and the reason most doctors tell you to put it on and than wash it off after a certain amount of time is because they're afraid it'll be to strong to leave it on overnight.
It will either dry your face to much or give you this burning sensation...but according to a few websites after a few weeks you should increase the time you leave it on your face (I called my doctor and he said it was okay to do this).

I have been on tazorac for nearly 7 months, and have seen a bit of improvement, but certainly not enough to feel confident in my appearance...I am staying on this stuff, along with cleocin-t for another month, and going back to my dermatologist.
And I must say, Tazorac is the best topical cream I have ever used in 15 years and believe me, I have tried many.
I think it helps to a certain degree since the pores are kept somewhat clearer without obstruction by dead skin (tazorac is great for eliminating small flheads like on your nose), but ultimately tazorac isn't stopping me from occasional blemishes here and there.
