[Abstract] A New Class of Rotational Invariants using Discrete Orthogonal Moments
Rotational invariants, orthogonal moments, zernikemoment invariants, Tchebichef moments, patternrecognition.
This paper presents a new class of Tchebichef moments in polar coordinate form, using which rotational invariants can be easily constructed.
The structure of the invariants is very similar to that of Zernike and Pseudo-Zernike moments, and their computation does not involve discrete approximation of continuous integral terms.

Abstract Tchebichef moment is based on discrete orthogonal Tchebichef polynomials.
Background This project focuses on the research of image processing methods based on moments, which is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Tchebichef moment is applied more and more widely to the area of image processing and computer vision.

Tchebichef moments were recently proposed to address issues of moments of continuous orthogonal basis.
They are discreet orthogonal moments and are orthogonal in the domain of the image coordinate space, a feature which presents a number of advantages over moments of continuous orthogonal basis.

This method described the image intensity distribution character using the orthogonal property of Tchebichef discrete orthogonal moments in image coordinate space, after that, mathed the pixel in stereo image pair according the distribution characters; at last, computed the disparity by the inverse transformation or comparing the intensity of the reconstructed image.
The result was given using Tchebichef discrete orthogonal moments to process image stereo matching.
The result indicates that our algorithm using Tchebichef discrete orthogonal moments to process stereo matching is possible and valid.

The equations (10), (11) and (12) give the arm parameters in terms of the null radii and this is the most logical form.
The result is the form in which the arm parameters are usually presented, and is the form presented by Löfgren and Barewald.
From the opening lines of this section, it can be seen that the radius of maximum distortion between the null radii is also given by the difference between the square of the effective length and the square of the mounting distance divided by the linear offset.

The main objective of this research is to study and explore the properties of discrete orthogonal moment functions particularly Tchebichef moment functions.
Exhaustive study of theoretical aspects of discrete orthogonal moment includes invariant properties, numerical efficiencies, reconstruction error analysis, and noise sensitivity.
It is also the aim to propose the derived invariant properties of Tchebichef moments as pattern features for object classification.

We propose to calculate stereo disparity in the moments space, but we also present numerical and correlation based methods.
In order to calculate disparity vector we decided to use discrete orthogonal moments of Tchebichef, Zernike and Legendre.
In our research of stereo disparity estimation all of these moments were tested and compared.
