 Te Atatu
Te Atatu is the name of two suburbs in Waitakere, one of the four cities that make up the Auckland urban area in northern New Zealand: Te Atatu Peninsula and Te Atatu South.
It is located at the western extremity of the Waitemata Harbour, and is formed by the Henderson Creek, an estuarial arm of the harbour, which extends southwest from the Harbour itself.
The Te Atatu electorate, which covers both suburbs, is served in New Zealand Parliament by Chris Carter, New Zealand's first openly gay Cabinet Minister.

The Te Atatu Undergrounding Project has been carried out as a ‘Dig Once’ initiative which has seen UnitedNetworks, Telecom, Waitakere City Council and Ecowater working together to revitalise the area in one effort.
Streets that have benefited from the project include Edmonton Road and parts of Te Atatu Road, which are the main arterial routes from the North Western motorway.
The Te Atatu Undergrounding Project is part of UnitedNetworks' Undergrounding Programme, and has been made possible by the support of the UnitedNetworks Shareholding Society (UNSS) as trustees of the Waitemata Electricity Trust.

 Scoop: Temporary traffic flow changes - Te Atatu
Transit New Zealand is temporarily reconfiguring the lanes on the Te Atatu motorway overbridge to allow traffic to flow smoothly across the bridge while it is repaired.
The bridge was damaged earlier this week when a digger on a transporter hit the underside of the beams supporting the western side of the bridge.
Mr Brown says there may be some restrictions on the right turn from Te Atatu North to the motorway toward Lincoln Rd and requests motorists to take care that waiting traffic does not block the single through lane.
