TeXmacs' philosophy is that it is possible to promote the creation of structured document using a graphical tool.
One thing that makes TeXmacs better than LaTeX front-ends (which I repeat, it is not) is that the typesetter is an inherent part of the editor.
In older version of TeXmacs, the style system was similar to LaTeX, but has now evolved beyond it and future versions will support a transformation system general enough to support XSLT in real-time.

TeXmacs can also be used as an interface to many external systems for computer algebra, numerical analysis, and statistics.
I love the plug-in capability to use TeXmacs with Cycas and other CAS utilities, as this fills neatly the void of a GPL Math program that can be used for both computation and presentation (a huge time waster).
If, as a user, you think that TeXmacs is sufficiently nice for writing papers for journals, then please help: put a notice in your paper to say that it was prepared using TeXmacs and just try to submit the paper in TeXmacs format.

Group #1 is texmacs users who want to export their work already done in texmacs to web pages.
texmacs for windows is available, but i have not tried it.
Also Note: As of this writing (1.0.4.1) there is a bug in texmacs that crashes texmacs when selecting gif's smaller then 5 pixels wide, you will need to make vertical.gif spacers 5 pixels wide, or try using.jpg format.

Option 1 was moved here because it's not as general as the other solutions, and it requires going outside of texmacs to complete each page.
But this is still poor, because the right way to implement it, would be to implment a representative of whatever you wanted as a texmacs object, which rendered during the texmacs to html processing.
Load up mozilla composer, create a new document with what you want it to look like inside it, then click the “source“ tab at the bottom, and it'll show you the html version of it.

Note: with version 1.0.3.2 it happened to me that the first time I tried to start TeXmacs I got this message, but the second time there was no problem.
After the first installation I recommend to run setup.exe again, as the world is not perfect, and there might be a few dependend packages, which for some reason were not installed.

You should now be able to launch TeXmacs from the TeXmacs icon on your desktop or from the applications or accessories submenu of your main Windows menu on the bottom left of the screen.
Notice that an uninstaller for TeXmacs is also provided in the applications or accessories submenu of your main Windows menu.
When upgrading to a new version of TeXmacs, it is recommended to uninstall the previous version first.

Hello, The bibliography is one of the few points in texmacs where the user still have to rely on latex-knowledge.
This is sometimes difficult for new users (see the recent request on texmacs-users).
It is easy to change this tool so that it outputs the texmacs format.

I presume you are > contemplating replacing the octave console with something driven by > TeXmacs.
I actually have the project of writing a universal spreadsheet inside TeXmacs, which will rely on extern systems for all computations, but which will do the rendering and dependence analysis in a very good way.
Also, TeXmacs is very customizable via the Guile/Scheme extension language.

This seems to be a problem in the TeXmacs conversion of LaTeX output.

This is the page of tmPython, the TeXmacs Python plugin.
I could not get TeXmacs Multiline input support (on which the plugins notify TeXmacs when they are done receiving a command) working, therefore I avoided using it.
But, without the aforementioned feature the plugin has to guess where the newlines are, as TeXmacs converts the Multiline blocks into one line, by substituting the newlines with whitespaces.
