Teany, a vegetarian/vegan hangout and side project of the techno-tune titan Moby, has an animal-friendly menu that appeals to the carnivorous majority just as much as the greener crowd.
While Teany reviews have been rave and Moby has broken the barrier between techno and popular music, none of this was enough for the musician/restaurant owner.
Teany teas are available in five different flavors, from the basic "Iced Tea with Lemon," to the exotic "Vanilla Berry Hibiscus." The teas contain no artificial sweeteners - 70 percent less sugar than other bottled teas, the rock star said- and have less artificial coloring because all the ingredients are organic.

The server was nice, but slow because she had way too many tables to take care of (all of them).

When you shopped 'til you've dropped in Soho and Nolita, and fancy a rest, walk down Rivington Street to the Lower East Side and have a cuppa and a slice of cake at Teany.
Teany is owned by Moby and his business partner Kelly and as expected is funky, kooky and indeed tiny (there are always queues but the friendly staff try to seat you as quickly as possible) with all snacks being Vegetarian or Vegan.
I ate the best lentil stew ever at Teany whilst Bubb's plate of Apple Crumble Pie (enormous) was sublime.

 Cool Hunting: Moby, Teany and an Intimate Live Show
The book sprang out of Teany, Moby and Kelly's teahouse and vegan eatery on the L.E.S. I visited Teany last year and if you ever find yourself Downtown and hungry, I highly suggest stopping in.
Since Moby named his album Hotel, he strategically partnered with W Hotels nationwide and is performing for intimate groups in different cities.
The room was set up like a swank lounge with plush couches and comfy beds (seriously) and vodka martinis made with Teany iced teas were served.
