Sometimes more like a photo album, Technique captures a part of MIT life   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-05)
Technique sells itself as "a photographic essay which attempts to capture a year of life at MIT." As in previous years, this year's Technique excels in photographic quality, in particular, the introductory color photographs.
In his first sentence, he says, "There is a high probability that some subset of the Class of 1998 will change the world." Any Course XVIII major will tell you that the empty set is a subset of the Class of 1998.
Technique's challenge is to capture the vast range of the MIT experience in a finite number of photographs.

Clearly though, Immortal Technique is the strongest sonic force on the album, a claxon alarm that shatters the complacent silence.
Immortal Technique is without a doubt centered and oriented on what it is he's saying, and molds everything about his music to fit.
He's talented, but even so, the biggest problem with this album is that it lacks that attachment value that Jean Grae's "This Week" or Wordsworth's "Mirror Music" cultivated so succesfully, and when you combine this with Techniques violent exhibitions of lyricism, it makes it hard sometimes to stick with it.

 BlueBeat.com - Artist: Yngwie J Malmsteen
Malmsteen released a series of albums over the course of the '80s that, aside from slight differences in approach and execution, were strongly similar to {^Rising Force}, and critics charged him with showing little artistic progression.
Steeler recorded one album with Malmsteen on guitar, but dissatisfied with the band's rather generic style, Malmsteen moved on to the group Alcatrazz, whose Deep Purple and Rainbow influences better suited the guitarist's style.
The new band's first album, also called {^Rising Force}, was released in 1984; it was a largely instrumental affair spotlighting Malmsteen's incendiary guitar work and Johansson's nearly equally developed technique.

This Album was released by Joe Pass on 05/16/2006
On what was actually his second set of unaccompanied guitar solos (Virtuoso No. 4 from a month earlier was released years later), Pass shows that it is possible to play unaccompanied versions of such up-tempo tunes as "How High the Moon," "Cherokee," and "The Song Is You" on guitar.
Pass would record many unaccompanied recordings and perform at numerous solo concerts during the next 20 years; this is the set that started it all, and it is a certified classic.

Technique is consistently superb from the first notes of Fine Time through the final fade out of Dream Attack.
The only knock on the album is the fact that it breaks no new ground, but that hardly an effective criticism when the music is this good.
'technique' begins withs one of new order's finest moments, the brilliant 'technique.' almost devoid of a vocal track, it was a fuzzy, acid-induced, dance-floor stomper.

 Yngwie Malmsteen
Combining a dazzling technique honed over years of obsessive practice with a love for such classical composers as Bach, Beethoven, and Paganini, Malmsteen 's distinctively Baroque, gothic compositional style and lightning-fast arpeggiated solos rewrote the book on heavy metal guitar (see his rig).
The new band's first album, also called Rising Force, was released in 1984; it was a largely instrumental affair spotlighting Malmsteen 's incendiary guitar work and Johansson 's nearly equally developed technique.
The album was an immediate sensation in guitar circles, winning countless reader's polls in guitar magazines, reaching number 60 on Billboard's album chart (no mean feat for an instrumental album), and receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

But when the controversial Sacramento rapper's third album, Loaded, soared to the top of the urban charts, it was clear that he had become a major star in rap, much more than a cult figure.
Gone were the references to cannibalism, and the album's sexually explicit lyrics and references to inner-city violence and marijuana smoking aren't anything out of the ordinary by gangsta rap standards.

Jim's Stamp Album: A Guide to Custom Album Pages
There are three factors here - the size of the album (which may be driven by this choice or which may drive this choice), the size of the material to be mounted, and the expense you're willing to incur.
One of the most basic elements of your album's look and feel is the way you choose to mount your material in your album.
However, the way the lines are drawn, the choice of fonts, the decision as to which features are shown and which aren't, all such things contribute to the overall style of presentation, and that presentation style is what is copyrighted in a "compilation copyright".

TECHNIQUE (1989) found them back in favour as antecedents to a pair of oddly related trends: songs about the British tradition of holidays in Spain, and acid-house music.
TECHNIQUE was the band's own take on that sound, and eventually, this adaptation became one of the touchstones of acid-house music.
The album is an effective mixof strange, sampled sounds (something at which the band hadalways excelled), propulsive beats, and Bernard Sumner's ever-improving vocal style.

All of Don't Sweat the Technique would be more disturbing if it wasn't for the brilliant ear of Eric B. who can cut the tension and exact magic out of a going-nowhere track.

BBC - Radio 2 - Critical List - Technique by New Order
Technique is the album that truly bridged the yawning gulf between dance and rock.
Recorded in 1988 in an Ecstasy soaked Ibiza at the height of the second summer of love, the album mixes New Order’s indie and electronic sounds of the earlier 1980s with the house music that was exploding onto British music, partly as a result of New Order and Factory Records own legendary nightclub- the Hacienda.
Toothy folkies aside, Technique remains the purest expression of acid house’s impact on British rock music.
