		The name came about when residents of "Lower Belgrave" persuaded the Victorian Railways to build a railway station, which was named Tecoma after a plant which grew in the locality.
		Tecoma has a small strip shopping centre, somewhat held in check by its proximity to Belgrave, churches and a primary school.
		Tecoma is a residential suburb in hilly surrounds 35 km.

	Upper Ferntree Gully to Gembrook Railway
		It is easy to find the location of all the stations along this line as the line is in the Melbourne metropolitan area.
		Currently the restored railway operates as a three section Staff and Ticket System with Belgrave, Menzies Creek, Lakeside and Gembrook as permanent staff stations.
