Theodore Calvin (Ted) Arnott (born April 8, 1963 in Fergus, Ontario) is a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the district of Waterloo—Wellington.
Arnott received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1985 and a Diploma in Business Administration from the same institution in 1986.
Arnott describes himself as a "moderate conservative", and endorsed John Tory 's bid for the party leadership in 2004.

Arnott acknowledged the recent decision to increase the fees and said that he wants seniors to "receive the best care possible" and that he was of the understanding that if the seniors couldn't afford it "provision would be made" for them.
Arnott said that there are many unique communities in the same situation and that he would favour meeting with residents in those unique situations to look at what could be done.
Arnott, who originally introduced Bill 30 which was narrowly defeated at third reading in recent months, said that the Liberal Party were "whipped" to vote against his bill, yet three members of the opposition defied their party whip and voted in favour.

Arnott's old constituency was perennially Tory (and includes Fergus, the hometown of the Beatty family, of stoveworks and Perrin fame).
Ted Arnott has no recognition in Waterloo Region or south Kitchener; his status as an incumbent will carry no weight in the most populous part of the riding.
Ted Arnott's home community, Arthur, is now out of riding in Dufferin-Peel, and half of his old riding has been hived off to Guelph-Wellington.

Both Thompson and Arnott say a good sound person will try to find out the style of music ahead of time and show up before the band gets there to set up the P.A. They also recommend walking around the venue during the show to listen for problem spots.

Council is urging local residents to sign a petition launched by Waterloo-Wellington MPP Ted Arnott that calls on the provincial government to pass legislation protecting the right of “double-hatter” firefighters to volunteer with fire departments in their home communities in their own free time.
Council passed a resolution in support of Arnott’s petition during its October 4 meeting.
But volunteer firefighters, fire chiefs and many concerned residents of small, especially rural communities argue that “double-hatters” provide a valuable service, bringing their professionalism and dedication to the protection of their chosen communities.

Arnott is trying to change that, with the introduction last spring of a private member's bill in the Ontario legislature aimed at safeguarding the right of full-time firefighters to also volunteer on the side.
Arnott, a Conservative, introduced a similar bill in 2002 when his own party was in power, but it was defeated.

Ted Arnott says the practice of "double hatting" must be protected by law, because the union that represents firefighters is pressuring its members to drop out of volunteer departments in their communities.
The bill that Arnott is currently championing would protect the jobs of unionized firefighters who also work as volunteers.
Two similar bills introduced by Arnott have failed to pass in the legislature.

I note there is reference to a Monica S. Arnott who died Manly 1934 dau of Wm & his 1st wife Monica Sinclair I could not see record of her birth.
