Ted McMeekin, MPP noted that the City of Toronto has signed pedestrian crossings; however, Staff responded that these crossings have resulted in accidents from people out of town as they weren’t used to the signage (not uniform across the province).
Ted McMeekin suggested that it might be worthwhile for the Council to obtain a copy of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s Accommodation Review Task Force Report to review its recommendations for schools in Dundas.
Ted McMeekin, MPP indicated that the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing did respond that any initiative would have to be driven by local Councils.

Although he admits he can’t undo the issue over which he was elected, McMeekin has no qualms with his predecessor.
McMeekin also vowed to try to build a stronger community for his constituents.

CATCH News - October 2, 2005 MPP blames city for Waterdown expansion problems Ted McMeekin says Waterdown residents should challenge Hamilton city council to stop a massive residential growth plan that will more than double the size of the town.
In a widely circulated email to a constituent, the Liberal MPP has slammed a city staffer's "assertions that the 'provincial government forced this decision'" to add 6500 new houses to Waterdown.
The report also argued, however, that "the costs associated with the north-south road improvements should primarily be the responsibility of the City of Hamilton and the Waterdown OPA 28 developers." McMeekin refers to this complication as "good news" for his constitutent and other opponents of the growth proposals.
