Ted Nugent (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ted Nugent, the first solo effort of the hard-rocking Motor City Madman, was released in 1975 after disbanding his former group, The Amboy Dukes.
Joining him in the Ted Nugent band would be former Amboy Duke Rob Grange on bass, along with Cliff Davies (ex-IF) on drums and finally, from a local Michigan band called Scott which had opened for the Dukes previously, a singer/guitarist named Derek St. Holmes.
The album, produced by former IF-manager Lew Futterman and Tom Werman, greatly influenced the genres of rock and heavy metal.

Ted Nugent - Full Bluntal Nugity Live
Nugent may be one of the most outrageously outspoken anti-liberal, pro-gun, pro-hunting nuts you have ever known, but the man can make a Gibson Byrdland scream like no other.
Nugent is backed by and impressive rhythm section of Marco Mendoza on bass, and young drum wizard, and fellow Detroit native, Tommy Clufetos behind the skins.
Nugent is dressed conservatively with his hair pulled back in a pony-tail, armed with a Gibson Les Paul, and he proceeds to tear the house down.

Ted Nugent, the album is one of the finest hard rock releases to come out of the 70's.
Since '98 I have seen Ted Nugent four times (two times opening for KISS and twice as the headliner w/ Slaughter and Night Ranger opening) and each time he has been awesome, playing mostly his early to mid 70's material.

Ted has never been lost for words and tonight was no exception, as he asked for the crowd to show their appreciation for him and his band, and to show what makes Britain so great.
The set continued with Ted saluting all the UK cowboys in the crowd as he went into ‘Snakeskin Cowboys’ off the his 1975 ‘Ted Nugent’ album a song that may be some 31 years old but still sounded great tonight as did all of the songs on the set.
Then we were privileged to something new from Ted and his boys, firstly with the fantastic ‘Still Raising Hell’, a song Ted said was a little Country and Western song, before joking that he was perhaps not being quite gay enough to sing Country and Western.

After disintegrating the Amboy Dukes in the early '70s, Ted Nugent finally decided to strike out on his own as a solo star.
The band's first release, 1975's Ted Nugent, is a prime slice of testosterone-heavy, raging, unapologetic rock & roll, and along with the band's 1977 release Cat Scratch Fever, it is Nugent's best solo studio album.
The success of the album derives from a combination of an increased sense of songwriting skills and purpose.

As we were whisked across a crowded and noisy room of rock 'n' roll business types, and musicians of all sizes and shapes we finally came upon two motherly ladies jibber-jabbing away with whiskey sours and bloody Mary's in their hands.
We spent the rest of the evening talking and sharing stories "Ma" was equally interested in what my life stories were, as much as I was interested in what she had to share.
Never at a loss for words to describe what Ted's music meant to her, "Ma" would gladly tell you names of songs, especially those that were her favorites, and even play tapes of Ted's music whenever she had the

But by the same token, Nugent is a family man and one of the few hard rockers who has admirably stuck by his lifelong anti-drugs and -drink stance throughout his career.
Holmes returned, however, in time for the album's ensuing tour, and by the release of 1977's Cat Scratch Fever (which spawned the hit single title track), Nugent and his band was one of the top rock bands in the U.S. -- storming the charts and selling out arenas coast to coast.
Nugent also tried his hand at acting around this time, appearing as a drug dealer in an episode of the hit TV series Miami Vice in 1986.

Each track on the album was a mini statement on its own, each offering a new arrangement, riff, rhythm, velocity, indeed a new proposed vocalist, the album being split between three singers: Ted, Derek St. Holmes and a struggling conundrum called Meatloaf (more on that later).

I've always found Ted Nugent the Character one of the most entertaining things to come out of Detroit, that very entertaining place.
Having grown up listening to Ted, that's the only name he needed around my high school, it was his 1974 releases, Call Of The Wild and Tooth, Fang and Claw which inspired me to begin learning to play the guitar.
As for the remainder of this album, it's pure Ted Nugent as we remember him from the mid-1970's.

Ted Nugent - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nugent was a longtime resident of Jackson, Michigan.
Nugent's views translate to his politics, and according to an interview in Independent the "law and order fanatic" "thinks homosexuality is an abomination" and is an outspoken supporter of the Republican Party and the United States military.
Nugent also caused a small degree of outrage in May 2006 from the heavy metal community after he blasted Pantera's cover of his song, "Cat Scratch Fever", claiming it had "No soul, no balls, no feel" and was "caucasian all the way" ([4] Sebastian Bach commented on this, in October 2006 criticizing Nugent], [5]).

All six tracks from that album are strong, energetic and as rebellious and brash as anyone would expect from 'ol Uncle Ted.

This album was recorded on December 31 on Nugent's home turf - Detroit to be exact - and alongside bassist Marco Mendoza and Tommy Aldridge on drums Nugent virtually pulverises the audience into submission.
As a stop-gap this is well worth the admission price and whilst there is a certain amount of overlap between this and 1978's 'Double Live Gonzo' the material comes up sounding fresh again.

While there's no denying his exceptional talent on the six-string, his knack for penning arena rock anthems, or his standing as one of rock's top live acts, it's his nonmusical endeavors that have caused the most condemnation from his detractors (his pro-right wing beliefs, pro-gun advocacy, appreciation of hunting animals, etc.).
