Teen Wolf came along at just such a time, and, while it is a nostalgic look back at the mid-1980s, it falls somewhat short of being a quality film.
Teen Wolf is certainly an interesting story concept, though it is a shame that tried-and-true ideas are heaped onto what might have been a unique tale.
Teen Wolf is an enjoyable relic from the 1980s, but it, as well as its unfortunate sequel, deserves to remain there for posterity.

McSweeney's Internet Tendency: Covering Teen Wolf: One Coach's Guide.
Soon as Teen Wolf gets two guys on him, he tends to find the open man. He's a heads-up ballplayer with great court sense, so if you're going to bring a trapping zone against Teen Wolf, make sure you have solid weak-side rotation and your defenders are communicating.
Teen Wolf gets scrappy once you put the pressure on, and he's a great ball handler with a low-to-the-ground style reminiscent of Pistol Pete or a young Isiah Thomas.
With Teen Wolf, though, you have to be careful.

 X-Entertainment: The TEEN WOLF Cartoon!
Keeping with the thought that Teen Wolf was hip with kids, random shots from the cartoons were immersed with what you see above: paintings of a "real" Teen Wolf wearing all the then popular clothes and rocking out to whatever's playing on the decisively cool flamingo pink Pocket Rockers cassette deck in his hand.
In the final year, Teen Wolf was all repeats, so while it was popular enough to "keep on," it wasn't bringing in high enough ratings to actually script and animate a whole new season.
While getting ready for school, Scott's assaulted by the pestilent "wolf jumps" of his kid sister, not to mention an intense chase sequence between his grandparents that spun off from an argument about Grandpa scratching himself when he was supposed to be standing perfectly still for a painting.

An otherwise routine teen comedy, this one works because of the customary bounce of Michael J. Fox, in one of his first leading roles (it was shot before Back to the Future but released in that blockbuster's wake, and cashed in nicely).
