Lesbian, bisexual, and abused teens, as well as teens who are sexually involved with older partners, are more likely than other teens to experience pregnancy, and they may need specialized programs to address their specific risk behaviors and to help them obtain services.
When faced with an unintended pregnancy, many poor and low-income teens are likely to view early childbearing as a positive, desirable choice (Brindis, 1999), becoming pregnant with the misguided hope of improving their lives (Gordon, 1996).
Teen mothers are less likely to graduate from high school and more likely than their peers who delay childbearing to live in poverty and to rely on welfare (Annie E. Casey Foundation, 1998).

Parent Resources Sexual Abuse Teen Pregnancy
How and why teen abuse victims are suffering the way they are should be worked out with a therapist, with the support of healthy family members.
However, a key behavioral concept is that troubled teens need to focus on the "here and now." How and why they got where they are is something to be worked out with a therapist, if at all possible.
Planning for the future is necessary, but action and focus on today, in the here and now, will help the troubled teen move strategically toward life-strengthening solutions, which will enable her to serve herself and her child more effectively.

 teen pregnancy
I really dont think this is all about the "teen mothers" in my opinion alot of teen pregnancies occur because the parents of said teen didnt educate their child or pay attention to what they were doing (not that teens can be watched 24/7) however ya get my point.....
Seriously, No teen WANTS to get pregnant, its not that they can't see the big picture...for the teens who are still studying and have a child, I admire them and it appears that they are trying to make up for the mistake of being carried away.
I'm sure there are a lot of teen mothers/ex-teen mothers that would be more than willing to share their experiences to help another teen be spared the hardships.

However, most teenagers are sexually active for many months before ever seeking birth control help from a family planning clinic or physician (Teenage Pregnancy, 1981).
