Teengenerate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Teengenerate were a Japanese garage punk band known for their sloppy, fun style of playing and often incomprehensible English lyrics.
Teengenerate broke up, and some of its members went on to start the band Firestarter.
At the time of their split, Teengenerate consisted of Fink (guitar, vocals), Fifi (guitar, vocals), Sammy (bass) and Suck (drums).

Japanese noise punk outfit Teengenerate was a hair-raisingly dangerous experiment in sheer speed, razor-edged guitar violence, and appallingly low sound fidelity.
In fact the quality of their recordings is so poor, the fuzz almost feels like another instrument; sort of like what gravel might sound like if it could talk.
Now defunct, Teengenerate was responsible for numerous bleeding ears during the mid '90s, when they regularly waged rock and roll war onstage and on the seven-inch slabs of vinyl they released with remarkable frequency.

 Teengenerate
Teengenerate started out in the early 90s under the moniker American Soul Spiders with a 4 piece lineup consisting of Fink (guitar, vocals), Fifi (guitar, vocals), Sammy (bass), and Shoe (drums).
Also, by covering everything from early 60s garage/psychedelic/skronk classics like The Pretty Things' "Midnight To Six Man" to late 70s snot-nosed punkers like The Pagans' "Six And Change", these guys showed that they were true musical scholars and were proud to wear their influences on their sleeves.
With a slew of 7" and 10" releases of varying (and sometimes dubious) sound quality and only one proper full-length studio release to their name, it should be hard to call Teengenerate one of the greatest bands to ever emerge from the primordial swamp and play this thing called rock and roll.

For those of you holed up in your dark bedrooms mourning the end of Teengenerate's reign as Japan's trashiest punk rock emperors, they've released a brand spankin' new single for you to add to your pathetic collection.
Although as disappointing as it is knowing that Teengenerate will probably never tour again, at least their albums are true representations of their fine live performances.
Also, the good picture of Teengenerate guitarist, Fifi, on the cover of the single is quite the added incentive to swipe this right up.

The all-girl rock band Supersnazz, named after the Flaming Groovies song, formed in 1990 with Spike on vocals, Tomoko on bass, Kanako on guitar and Skinnie Minnie on drums.
They were recording less than a year after forming the band, and played clubs, along with like- minded Japanese punk/garage-rock oriented groups such American Soul Spiders (from which Teengenerate emerged), Jackie & the Cedrics and the 5,6,7,8's, as well as sharing gigs with foreign bands.
Later that year came another drummer change, and this time Shoe from Teengenerate came aboard, becoming the first male member.

There is an argument to be made for Teengenerate as the best punk band of the late '90s.
Of course some would elect New Bomb Turks or a California hardcore group, but Teengenerate was arguably more shunted and kersplatz than a gutter full of American punks.
