		It was a privilege to be asked to paint the 1983 Derby winner for his owner and it was his own idea to have the horse shown at the start at Ascot prior to his thrilling victory in the 'King George and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes' since it was undoubtedly Teenoso's finest hour.
		Although Teenoso had won the Derby with ease, his win was largely attributed to his ability to handle the unusually soft ground at Epsom and the horse was never given the credit he really deserved after his fine victory.
		This had, in fact, shown him being held at the start by Lester Piggott for some time before entering the stalls and this is the moment of quiet contemplation I have tried to capture in his painting."
