In particular the rule that a long vowel cannot appear in a closed unaccented syllable is subject to dispute between Sefardim and Teimanim.
The former do not accept this rule and read bea'lma, with a sheva nach, and the latter beollema with a sheva na', both treating the kamats as a kamats gadol, which the Teimanim anyway read as an 'o' sound.
Thus, the difference between the pronunciation of qamatz qatan and qamatz gadol in the (Hebrew) prayers or leining of Ashqenazim (and Teimanim for that matter) should be nonexistent.

Whilst I was browsing the meaning of Teimanim I came across the web site of the Baghdad Museum.
Well this came as a bit of a surprise as the head of the museum has recently gone into exile because of the current sectairan violence and in doing so has baricaded the Museum building like a fortress to prevent looting.

The standard shittah of the Zionists was, that if you live in Israel, you don't have to keep the rest of the torah.
That's how they shamadded so much of klal yisroel after the war, especially the sefardim and teimanim.
Also don't forget that Ben Gurion said he wouldn't be satisfied until israel even had her own prostitutes.

 Tekhelet Tying FAQ
Thus, confusion number one is due to the fact that R. Schachter's method is really the combination of two methods for two separate issues concerning the one mitzvah of tzitzit - i.e., number of strings like Tosafot, method of tying like Rambam.
Confusion number two arises from R. Schachter's reading of the Rambam as opposed to the tradition the Yemenites (Teimanim) carry.
The Rambam explains, in very general terms, to make a hulya of three wraps, make a knot, give some distance and make the next hulya, etc. (Hil.

I wasn’t worried about my safety, but concerned about how I would find the spirit and daily life of the Israelis.
My anxiety was quickly put to rest as we started to walk the streets of Tel Aviv to one of my favorite restaurants in Kerem Ha Teimanim (the Yemenite Quarter).
The streets were far from deserted as Israelis went on their daily routines.

I can't remember if I read on this site, but did Teimanim at one point have a differeces when the Jewish calender was set by Hillel II?
Because the ancestors of the Teimanim were already in Yemen before the destruction of the 1st Beit HaMikdash did they have any differences in that regard with other communities?
If so or even if not, are there are any books written by any Hhohmei Teiman that talk about the calender?

The Rebbe added that Teimanim and Sephardim who learn Kabbala have emunas tzaddikim, and it is easier to learn chassidus with them.
Thanks to him, my friends and I who are Teimanim, established chassidic families, and we have children and grandchildren who are Lubavitchers and mekusharim to the Rebbe.

Or do you call yourselves sephardi because of religous tradition (as opposed to the ashkenazi rite).
