TekWar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
TekWar is the title of a series of science fiction novels by William Shatner which gave rise to a TV series and short series of TV movies in which Shatner also appeared.
TekWar was also a series of TV films and later a TV series.
The two most distingishable features were the hub level system (all the levels were interconnected by a subway station), and the fact that all of the non-player characters in the game (enemies, policemen, civilians) were shootable.

 philjohn.com - tv shows: TekWar
TekWar is a perfect example for the differences between books and audio-visual media: The future described in the books is a bit different from its visual realization.
But aside from this, TekWar shows us a future that could become reality, a future that is not as perfect as Star Trek might make us believe.
TekWar is not really an extraordinary show, but it focuses on a future other shows rarely tangle with.

The key here is to remember that TekWar was made for television –; specifically, as the pilot film for a television series (that lasted a whole eighteen episodes before dying) – and not for theatrical or even direct-to-video release, and judge the overall production values of the feature accordingly.
Looking at things from a made for TV perspective, this actually looks pretty good overall, with a decent combination of natural environments and computer generated graphics (though there are some exceptions; a matte photograph used as a background early on looks pretty bad).
Coming at it totally fresh with the realization that this was made first as a television pilot and without any background with regard to the novel, this is likely to be a very enjoyable trip into an interesting sci fi world that’s worth checking out.

William Shatner's best-selling TEKWAR novels come to life in an ultra-realistic, ground-breaking 3D action adventure.
Using the powerful "Build" engine, exclusively licensed from 3D Realms, TekWar has freedom in movement and perspective, along with strategic, interactive gameplay.
"TekWar may not be as addictive as the futuristic narcotic (Tek) from which it draws its name, but it is a pleasant surprise.

TekWar for PC Review - PC TekWar Review
TEKWAR has an interesting story line and is certainly a nice anti-aggravation device, but it fails to accomplish anything else.
Although the city scenes in TEKWAR are realistic and intriguing, the graphics are blocky and the movement of the characters is jerky and lifeless.
Also, there is hardly a mention of the Matrix in the documentation, which adds to the confusion on this already mind-boggling level.

I knew going into TekWar that it was going to be a crap sandwich, but I didn't track it down simply to blast it.
Billy Shatner's "Tekwar" was a series of novels and a TV show that I never read or watched, respectively.
Apparently, Kirk did indeed write the novels, but I'm not as clear about his involvement in the TV show, or the game.

I enjoyed TEKWAR so much that I thought I see is Shatner and friends could do it 2 in a row.

Ziggy's Video Realm: TekWar - TekLab (1994)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
For the casual viewer unfamiliar with the books, the movie is just another case of barely comprehensible, low budget sci fi that does very little to distinguish itself in a positive manner, and isn’t worth any special effort to try and find.
Indeed, unless you’re already enamored of either the TekWar films or the short-lived television series that spun off from them, there is just no reason to see this one at all.
Overall, TekWar: TekLab is simply too ill-conceived and poorly executed for anything other than the established franchise fan or the low budget sci fi junkie to want to bother with.

In any case, though, this fourth and final installment in the TekWar film series cannot be seen as the best by any means, and seems to find its most appropriate niche under the heading of “background noise”.
Watching her on the screen, Blythe is obviously the best actress here, truly bringing her character to life with an unspoken aura of sexy intelligence despite Centra’s being relegated largely to the background; given that this is part of a running series, that ought to have been recognized and exploited more fully.
Overall, though, TekWar: TekJustice is really only meant to be appreciated by established fans of the “TekWar” television series, or at the very least of the previous three films.
