Tekken 3 introduced the ability to move into and away from the background, commonly referred to as "sidestepping." Tekken 4 gave players even greater mobility adding true 3D movement whilst simultaneously including geometrically complex arenas of varying heights complete with obstacles and walls to the series.
According to the story, King and Kuma in Tekken and Tekken 2 died, and were replaced in the story by their successors (King II and Kuma Jr.) in Tekken 3, Tekken 4, and Tekken 5.
Tekken 5 celebrates the 10th anniversary of the original game and includes the first three games in the Arcade History mode of the PS2 version as well as the Star Blade arcade game (a portion of this is playable while the game loads right after it’s turned on), later also unlockable for Arcade History.

In Tekken 4 she was returning to life as an assassin and hired by the mob to kill Steve Fox, who turned out to be her son from being artificially impregnanted while in cold sleep (the identity of the father is unknown, though many assume it to be Kazuya).
In Tekken 2, she had an amulet which allegedly could control and subdue great powers and spirits and that Kazuya coveted; he was, however, unsuccessful at taking it away from her.
At the conclusion of Tekken 2 she threw her amulet to the bottom of a lake, probably never to be found again.

 Tekken 4 - PS2
This adds a level of visual impressiveness that neither Tekken 3 or Tekken Tag had, and I would have to say that this is probably the most visually polished game in the series.
Tekken Tag had a bunch of characters, but only 1 new rendered ending, an obvious rush job to capitalize on Tekken 3's popularity and the new PS2.
Tekken 2 was a big jump from 1, and Tekken 3 was a remarkable leap from 2.

It was released on the Playstation 2 in March of 2000 in Japan and due to be released on October 26th, 2000 in the U.S. It did introduce one new character to the Tekken series: A woman with a wolf's torso hovering behind her called The Unknown.

Tekken 4's arenas are a lot different from anything you've experienced in a Tekken title before, and for that matter, most other fighters too.
Tekken 4 and Virtua Fighter 4 are two different games (drawing comparisons started back before VF 4 even shipped).
One caters to hardcore fighting fans who are ready for the next step in their favorite genre, and one is perfectly happy being where it's at; having a solid fighting engine, interesting and colorful characters, addictive plot twists and the ability to make the time fly by with lush, pretty arenas, and all-new play mechanics.

Tekken 5 was a very big improvement over the somewhat disappointing Tekken 4, and fans of the series have taken to the new system with open.
Tekken 5 allow players to be incredibly creative with their fighting style, and since there are so many different moves now, you can experiment with new combos and juggles pretty much every time you play.
Tekken is better than ever, and lets you use pure "creativity" with your fighting style, air combos, and not to mention customizations.

But Tekken 3 is their current crowning achievement, producing one of the most diverse, and downright fun, fighting games of all time.
In Tekken 2, the new characters were simply the old characters with different polygons and about three different moves.

She's just a female equivalent of Eddy, the Capoeria specialist who is omitted from "Tekken 4." Despite the large character roster, half the characters still need to be unlocked by meeting certain criteria throughout the game.
Tekken Force also makes for a good diversion, especially when you think of how side-scrolling beat-'em-ups are lacking in today's gaming libraries.
The Tekken Force mode is a nice touch, but in the end it isn't more than a second-rate side-scrolling brawler.

Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the PSP is an impressive graphical feat that also delivers everything that makes the Tekken series so great.
Players who are familiar with the Tekken series will be right at home with the available modes, many of which come from Tekken 5 on the PlayStation 2.
Additionally, the game has the same sound effects that Tekken 5 had, which makes the hits sound nice and hard, though the relative lack of bass on the PSP's stock speakers means they don't deliver quite as well as a set of good headphones will.

A large purse of prize money which was to be awarded to the fighter who could defeat Heihachi Mishima in the final round provided incentive for warriors from all over the globe.
Financed and sponsored by the giant financial groups, the Mishima Zaibatsu, the first Tekken tournament began with eight fighters, all of whom had emerged victorious in death matches held all over the world, all motivated by different motives, all possessing the skill and power to crumble mountains.
Exactly one year after the end of the first Tekken, a message is relayed from the Mishima Zaibatsu fortress to news agencies all over the world announcing a second tournament with a prize a thousand times that of the first.

UGO.com Games - Tekken 4 review of the PlayStation 2 fighting game from Namco
In the visuals department, Tekken 4 does a solid job and character models are generally decent, with high polygon counts.
Tekken takes a new step into the realm of closed arenas rather than the infinite expanses of the previous games.
The tunes that back up Tekken 4 are laughably bad, and coupled with dated sound effects (some of these characters use the effects from the original Tekken, dating back a whopping seven years ago), I'd recommend getting some duct tape to keep your mute button pressed down for the duration of play.

While Tekken Tag was available shortly after the PS2 launched, most saw it as merely an appetizer to whet the appetites of fighting game aficionados everywhere until Tekken 4 was released.
Heihachi sends a squad of his Tekken Force commandos to retrieve his son’s remains, only to have those same commandos obliterated by Kazuya himself, who is now sporting a very Terminator-style visage with a glowing red eye and a bad attitude.
While Tekken 3 was a superb video game, merely upgrading the graphics and adding a few new bells and whistles falls short of what such a good game deserves.

Tekken 6 Review / Preview for PlayStation 3
It's been a year since we first saw the screens of Tekken 6 and another E3 has come and gone with almost nothing revealed from Namco regarding the next iteration of their popular fighting franchise.
Why is it no matter what fighting game you play, you always say "Tastes like Tekken." Okay so that joke wasn't particular fleshed out, it's late and I spent the evening in the emergency room with my boy.
It's all about name recognition and in the case of Namco, the Tekken name brings along a history that has spanned what will be three consoles and a decade of kicking ass both at home and in the arcades.

It is difficult to believe that it has been 10 years since the first Tekken game came home for the original PlayStation in 1995 and helped bring that system to dominance in its generation of hardware.
Though called Tekken 5, this is actually the sixth game in the franchise; Tekken Tag Tournament came out on the PS2 after the last Tekken for PS1, Tekken 3, and before Tekken 4 on the PS2.
Tekken 4 was not particularly well received by series fans and Tekken 5 has pretty much junked everything from Tekken 4 and gone back more to the earlier Tekken games.
