Today in Slovakia, Tekov is only an informal designation of the corresponding territory.
After World War II Tekov county was completely in Czechoslovakia again.
In 1993, Czechoslovakia was split and Tekov became part of Slovakia.

 Slovak Folk Dances
The text is supplied with 106 color photographs, 159 fl and white photographs of the folk dress, folklore groups, prominent dancers and musicians in the authentic version; 388 fl and white photographs of the dance motives performed by the members of some outstanding ensembles, 174 songs and folk scores, the folklore map of the Slovakia.
In the first chapters of the book the general characteristics of the dance folklore, the musical folklore and the folk dress in the Slovakia is presented so as their samples have been preserved for us since the old times until those of the beginning of the 20th century.
In the next part twenty folklore regions are presented in detail: the regions of Zemplin, Gemer and Horehrome, Liptov, Tatra’s highlanders, Polana, Myjava, Saris, Spis, Nitra, Tekov, Orava, Turiec, Hont, Novohrad, Zvolen, Trencin, Kysuce, Danube lowlands and Zahorie.

Originally, the chateau was built with the purpose to fortify the inhabitants against Tartar and Turkish invasions occurring in this area during several centuries.
Since 1561, this chateau was the capital of the Tekov region for nearly 200 years.
The Renaissance style can be seen in its W, N and E (see the 10th picture) sides.

 Pusty Castle
Comitatus of Zvolen Castle represented extensive Royal area, known as Zvolen Dominion.
This included Turiec, Liptov, Orava, and from the 2nd half of 12th century also Northern Tekov belonged in.
The beginnings of this castle and its fortification aren't exactly known.
