		Telefon Tel Aviv achieve some degree of distinction with "Your Face Reminds Me of When I Was Old." Beginning like a sound sculpture, Cooper and Eustis bring clattering, curling elements to the foreground and allow them to loiter and interact with each other.

		On John Thomas On The Inside, guitarist Alfredo Nogueira gives a surprising twist to the Telefon Tel Aviv sound by introducing a proper acoustic instrument in the apparent acoustic atmospheres generated by the duo.
		Telefon Tel Aviv create with this first album, a brilliant series of chilled electronica, avoiding all the downfalls of ambient by carefully setting up their ambiences.
		From their own admission, working in a different environment for a while allowed the pair to develop new ideas when they were ready to come back to their own work.

		But their tracks also have much melodic content and contain a pleasing amount of organic texture; witness the guitar playing on "John Thomas On the Inside is Nothing But Foam" (which sounds a lot like a Tortoise song, in fact).
		Telefon Tel Aviv fall more on the classicist side of the electronic spectrum (although they do dabble in some of the IDM/glitch aesthetic) than on the Lesser/Autechre beat-splatter side, and this album makes for a highly engaging listen.
