Telejano - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is derived from the TomazQuake engine, but Telejano is aimed for more eyecandy and help enginemods and develop experimental ideas.
Telejano adds in many new features that it is over 1.5 megabytes in size: More than twice the size of the original TomazQuake.

New Doom Forums - Can anyopne provide a list of Quake 1 source ports?
Telejano runs like the wind, looks nice, but is rather buggy and technical support is extremely hard to get (it won't save my settings - control binds, graphics settings etc., and reverts back to default every time I exit the game).
I have managed to get the hi-res texture pack to load, and some of the ammo box models, but the new weapon models and enemy skins do not seem to work, and I'm unable to work out any method of getting them into the game.
Telejano seems to ignore every change I make, once I started it a second time.

It is derived from the TomazQuake engine, but Telejano is bigger, badder, and better.
Telejano adds in so many new features that it is over 1.5 megabytes in size: More than twice the size of the original TomazQuake.
It is not as detailed and complex as Tenebrae, but both engines are completely different and we think you should try Telejano.

 General News
I went back through some of the Army Quake stuff, but Telejano Quake is still crashing on me. I'm trying to keep contact with the creator but I haven't had much success thus far.
Predator Quake still has to be updated, so when I get some time after my current assignment is up I will fix the errors that are in the game and utilize the Telejano Quake Engine for some of this extra features that it containes that Tomaz Quake did not.
I will spend some time converting what has to be in Preditor Quake and maybe add some goodies that are made possible with Telejano and then with Army Quake.

Telejano (screenshot), which is by far my favorite because it does the best to improve what Quake actually does rather than just shove in effects just because they are flashy.
The transparency, fog and geocaustic effects are especially excellent.
Telejano also maintains a much better framerate than some of the other renderers.

Telejano does nearly the same thing and is over twice as fast.
Telejano is bloated, full of dirty hacks and I fear will not compile for GCC.
Tenebrea has tons of "opengl-wizardry" code-hacks, and the new code from the new team menbers is very leet.

You could be well be referring to telejano or Dark Places.
Its always worth mentioning Tenebrae but I dont think thats the one you're thinking of as it hasnt been around for years.
I know it's not telejano, I dl'd that yesterday, and it's not what I remember.

Can anyopne provide a list of Quake 1 source ports? - New Doom Forums
I can't help you with your list, but I didn't have any problems with Telejano, I still use it today.
Well I've tried several things, but the problem seems to be that the config.cfg does not dynamically relate to user chosen settings.
None of those cool monster models on the Quake Remodilling project have ever been released.

Simply said, Telejano enhances everything Quake without losing compatibility - if you have new graphics hardware (such as a DX9 board from ATI or NVIDIA) grab this!
"The second major feature of Telejano is that everything that is old, is replaceable with the new.
This means that you can get Telejano to load any skybox, hi-resolution texture, or model replacement (md2,md3 models).

Telejano - if that one doesn't work at first, hit refresh
I have tried practically every user-made engine out there for Quake (Telejano used to be my favorite), but recently I realized how many cool features JoeQuake has.
Granted, it doesn't have all the features of DP or Telejano, but there's more too it than add-on graphics.

These maps really look nice if you use one of the user made engine mods that enables fog.
BTW, these screenshots were taken using Telejano Quake engine.
The climax of the map is by far the ending where you will find yourself in a large open area surrounded by buildings.

A couple people have asked what Quake Engines or Clients were used to produce the images in the Slide Show.
I found images from various engines such as DarkPlaces, Telejano, and Tenebrae readily available on the net.
You can easily find more information about these clients by simply using Google.

In Tenebrae I cannot get higher than 512x400 (or something like that).
Anyway I believe Tenebrae is a bit of an overkill (runs very poorly), so I will stick with TeleJano even though it has no bump map effects
It'll come up with an error right when it tries to start the game.

Not so - it plays Serious Sam, (I and II), glQuake and Telejano Quake, Doom II, glElite TNK, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3, Morrowind...
Of course, it'll likely not do too well on Doom 3 - but what the hell would I want to play *that* for?
