TheStreet.com: Poor Reception for Televisa's Books
Televicentro, an unlisted Mexican company, is owned by Emilio Azcarraga Jean, Televisa's chairman and CEO, and is the lever by which Azcarraga controls his empire.
But Televicentro is notable not only for holding a majority of Televisa's voting shares: It's also burdened by over $1 billion in loans from U.S. and Mexican banks that are collateralized by Televisa shares.
But failure to even mention Televicentro and its relation to Televisa in the latter's official financial reports is highly irregular, say the analysts.

In January 1997, when he was a mere 29 years old, Emilio Azcárraga became the chairman of the board and president of Grupo Televisa, taking over the post from his terminally ill father, Emilio "the Tiger" Azcárraga Milmo.
Many thought the younger man would not be able to overcome the daunting challenges awaiting him: he needed to consolidate control of his company, restructure Grupo's parent corporation Televicentro's $1.3 billion debt and face down aggressive competition in the form of TV Azteca.
Televicentro had $1.3 billion in debt, tied to stocks and incredible defaults [on loans].
