  Spacecraft: Telstar 4
Telstar 4 (previously known as Telstar 402R) is the oldest of the eight communications satellite in Loral Skynet's fleet.
Telstar 4 was built by Lockheed-Martin using the AS7000 bus, was launched in September 1995 on an Ariane 42-L and is in geostationary orbit at 89 degrees West longitude (some documents indicate 77 degrees West, but 89 degrees is the correct location, based on the current two-line element set).
An earlier Telstar satellite, Telstar 401, failed in January 1997, possibly due to a magnetic cloud event causing a short circuit, and is currently adrift in the vicinity of 89 degrees West longitude.

The last Telstar, based on the GF platform, was released in 1997, but was only sold in Japan, as Ford was now marketing the Mondeo in the Asian-Pacific region.
The Telstar was dropped by Ford of Japan in 1999, as the company sought to differentiate itself from Mazda by concentrating on European and American Ford models.
Local assembly of the Telstar was short-lived, and for a while the model was almost replaced by the Ford Corsair, which was simply a facelifted version of the Nissan Pintara, as the two companies were sharing models under the Button Plan.

Telstar trimaran introduction by Joe Siudzinski
There was also a Telstar 35 and a version of the 8m which had outer hulls which pulled in close to the main hull while the boat was in the water, but I believe only one or two were ever built.
I partially refurbished my Telstar (it had significant workmanship defects), and, after first satisfying myself that the boat is structurally sound, am now having fun alternately further upgrading the boat and sailing it.
The Telstar 26 takes a little longer than the 8M because the wings bolt into place instead of being pinned, and the hinges are multiply articulated which consumes some time for proper hull alignment and securing on the trailer.
