		Peter Pejtsik, AC Cellist collaborated in Tempano's last CD > "Childhood's end", issued recently by French label Musea.
		Tempano is probably the most well known prog band from Venezuela.
		The original lineup regrouped to perform to perform at Baja Prog last year and recorded a few new tracks for the reissue of "Abatal-Yamal".

		There are only five songs among the fifteen tracks that are presented on the new Tempano album and four of them are in English.
		Tempano's "The Agony and the Ecstasy" is probably the only contemporary Classic Symphonic Art-Rock album (and I've already listened to it about a dozen of times running!) that currently impress me as much as the works of Titans of the genre.

		In many of the songs, there seems to be an almost soundtrack quality to the music, as if to create a musical scenarios to an imagined film, and each song is so different to one another, this fact alone make this cd so captivating.

		The return of Venezuela's Tempano, which happened twenty years after they disbanded having released their only, though, excellent album, "Atabal Yemal", was arguably the most unexpected event in the history of Progressive.
		Back to "Childhood's End", I must admit that Tempano's second album is my introduction to their creation.
		As for the mastery of the Tempano musicians, all of them are real virtuosos.

		Tempano are a progressive rock band that borrows heavily from the fusion musics of the mid to late seventies, lots of vintage keyboards, slight to non-distorted guitars, and beautiful melodies.
		The music is not slow per se, but has a relaxing mood to it, perhaps because of the instruments tones, and the use of spirited melody.
		The album came out in 1980, which was a strange time for prog music in general, the popular styles were leaning towards punk and new wave, but few bands like Tempano held fast to their integrity to release this little gem.

		Venezuelan prog band Tempano's latest CD is a whimsical explosion of mind treat.
		The guitar work is the driving force behind this ride, interludes of classical and electric, loops and mellotron are reminiscent of King Crimson’s “I talk to the wind.” The vocal soars with emotion, teamed with light keyboards the vision of the rain stopping shines lucid.
		A lot of the vocals remind me of the promise of early Mister Mister, the bass work is subsonic, laying the foundation to a solid structure of music.

		As with most prog bands, these guys have existed for a long, long time, and have, mostly out of stubbornness' and true love of music, persevered in spite of a mainstream which is increasingly hostile to music which is not easy to "package for mass consumption".
		This is a Tempano trademark, which I happen to really like: at times, the vocals seem to be more of an arrangement than the main basis of the composition, but they work!
		The rhythm section continues to play seamless, imaginative and highly melodic passages that complement the music perfectly, supporting the constant counterpoint between the guitars and keyboards.

		I had never heard a note by Tempano but the reviews sounded good, so I put them on my wish list, where it must have sat for a good year or so.
		The songs range from symphonic prog rock, to movie score sounding contemporary music, to something just short of jazz, while the tempos run the gamut from easy going to medium fast, yet everything they play is smooth … smooth as Venezuelan Oil.
		I really believe that if you like progressive rock music, this album specifically and Tempano in general, is for you.

		After such fantastic releases as Agony and Ecstasy, Childhood´s End and Atabal Yemal, I took a look at En Reclamación, a Tempano reissue from the late 70´s early 80's.
		Although I like all types of Progressive Music, from RIO to Neo, I really can´t judge or evaluate this album since I really don´t now how to catalog it.
		Please try to avoid it,and better loof for other Tempano releases!!!!!!!!
