The St James's Palace Stakes is the day's Group One event and the usual strong pointers - favourites have an excellent record; Classic form is a must, as is winning form as a two-year-old - all lead to Rock of Gibraltar (3.45) but he will be an unbackable price.
The meeting's second Group One, the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, is usually one of the trickier races to weigh up on trends and much will depend on ground conditions this year, with the principals unlikely to take their place if there is plenty of cut.

 The Mormon Implosion Hypothesis
Temple recommends have failed as a control system, largely because temple attendance, and temple work, is irrelevant to the vast majority of the membership.
Members do not attend the temple for one reason - the costs outweigh the benefits of such work as vicarious atonement for the dead, where computer generated lists of total strangers are passed from temple to temple, and the same names are “baptized in the Spirit” for the Nth time.
Stakes and wards were consolidated, and branches were held together by the faith of an older, poorer, membership.

SANDOWN racegoers were yesterday treated to one of the greatest sprinting displays of recent years when Airwave gave away four lengths at the start of the Tripleprint Temple Stakes, before slicing her way through the field for an easy three-length victory.
Taking on her elders for the first time, Henry Candy’s three-year-old filly had taken a walk in the betting, and the lack of market confidence appeared justified when she and her rider Dane O’Neill were left trailing as they came out of the stalls.
By Candy’s own admission, Airwave had been an exceptionally mature filly for a two-year-old and the fact that she had not grown from two to three had been a cause of concern for some.
