Jaarlijks is er overleg tussen het college en het bestuur van de vereniging dorpsbelangen.
Anno 1850 was het dorp op te delen in twee gedeelten: het buurtschap Krõddebuur’n (langs de Stadsweg) en het deel aan de andere kant van het Damsterdiep.
In combinatie hiermee werden er ook steigers aangelegd in het Damsterdiep.

This is what I mean by "visually attractive": gardens maintained by people who have probably lived here for generations and have had the time and opportunity to completely shape them to their liking, unlike the hurried affairs of those who move house every few years.

The street named "Swierengapad" is one-block long and leads to the gemeentehuis (courthouse) in TenBoer, which is the renovated home and barn of Jan Bartels's grandson Jan Geerts Swierenga.
The large building, built in 1882 and housing both the barn and home under one roof as is the Dutch custom, was bought by the municipality in 1961 and modified at a cost of $1.25 million for use as the courthouse and government center.

Initially, the British government in London rejected the Boers’conditions for peace and presented their own conditions to the Boers'.
The British demanded that the Boers choose 30 representatives per state (60 in all) to meet at Vereeniging on May 15th 1902 to discuss these conditions.
A delegation of tenBoer leaders was then sent to Pretoria for the signing of the peace treaty.
Our first two Boer goat does were purchased in June 2002.
Our goat herd is still growing, we currently have tenBoer and Boer cross does, one wether and two Fullblood Boer bucks.
