The priest here from all accounts is a good drinking friend of Hiroshima Sensei via the Nara Australia Association, and this was one of the most interesting parts of the day.
Although this temple has a view over Nara, a selection of rare statues and a famous old tree which flowers in four colours, it was much smaller than the main tourist attractions, a bit off the beaten track and more of a working temple.

I went to "Tenkawa shrine", namely "Tenkawa-dai-benzaiten-sha" on July 17, 2003.
It is because the day was the annual festival of the shrine and a Noh drama was played here.
When get on for "Naka-iozumi" by Nara Traffic Bus at here and get off at "Tenkawa-dai-bennzaiten-sha", you will see a torii, shintou shrine gate.
