Computer and video games - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The popularity of computer and video games, as a whole, has been increasing steadily ever since the 1984-1987 drop-off caused by the video game crash of 1983, and the popularity appears to be continuing to increase.
Computer and video games have been the subject of frequent controversy and censorship, due to the depiction of graphic violence, sexual themes, advertising, consumption of illegal drugs, consumption of alcohol or tobacco, propaganda, or profanity in some games.
Video games are made by developers, who used to do this as individuals or small teams in the 80's.

The likeness of the tennis pros included in the game are excellent and after a point is scored we are quickly shown the player celebrating, walking back into position or stretching and rubbing their arms, just like the real thing.
There are games that include serving at a moving conveyor belt of prizes to knock off as many as you can with 10 serves, volleying balls at moving tanks to destroy them, returning balls to hit targets and avoiding multiple balls whilst running around the court grabbing flags.
Virtua Tennis 2 is a very accurate and addictive tennis game that looks and sounds marvelous, feels very authentic and is designed to allow your skills to develop as you master the controls and become a champion.

 PONG-Story: Main page
The video game history started in a strange and complicated way and it is important to avoid confusions with what happened in the 1950s and 1960s.
A video game is defined as an appartus that displays games using RASTER VIDEO equipment: a television set, a monitor, etc. In the 1950s and 1960s, computers were not only exceedingly expensive, but used a technology that could not allow integrating them into a video game system.
Since it did not generate video signals which were then sent to a raster scan display such as an ordinary TV set or monitor, it was not a video game.

When a real tennis racket hits the ball, you get a smushy-sharp "plock" as the ball compresses and rebounds, plus a little bit of a twang when the strings in the racket oscilate like a guitar string (but much shorter, because the cross-weave damps it quickly).

The first video game (in my opinion, people argue about this) was Tennis for Two, implemented in 1958 on an analog computer and an oscilloscope by Willy Higinbotham and others at the Brookhaven National Laboratories.
He interprets the "video" in video game as a technical term (it refers to a particular way of putting data on a screen?), and sees himself as the inventor of the video game.

However, the character-specific animation sequences that play during the game, particularly pre-rendered scenes triggered when you unleash a cheat that allows you to return a shot no matter where you are on the court, can get tedious because you can’t cancel them out by pushing a button.
Rather than overcoming computer-controlled foes together, one of use is going to lose or, in the case of adults, potentially throw the game depending on the age of your child and whether you’re trying to teach him/her that they can’t always win every game they play.
As you’d expect, the higher the level of difficulty, the less forgiving the game is, so you’ll have to be close to the ball in order to put a lot of mustard on your returns.
