  Postcard images of the Cleveland Union Terminal and Terminal Tower
The first one dates from the early 1920s when the idea of a 52-story tower to cap the mammoth Cleveland Union Terminal project had not yet been proposed by the Van Sweringen brothers.
The next six images are various views of the Terminal Tower, which was to Cleveland's photographers what the Eiffel Tower was to Parisian painters.
The tower marked the center of the city for two generations of Clevelanders, only in recent decades having any other "skyscrapers" joining it downtown.

The Terminal Tower is probably the most notable structure in Downtown Cleveland, topped off in 1927 and completed in 1930 at a staggering 708 feet tall with 52 stories (771 to the top of the flagpole).
This was also one of the largest complexes built up to that time and the largest land excavation project next to the Panama canal at that time.
Also up until 1964 it was the worlds tallest building outside of NYC and the tallest building in Cleveland until the Key Tower was built in the early 1990's.

Hoboken Terminal tower was closed and demolished in 1984 to make way for a new four-storey tower.

He continued to be a avid supporter up to his death and was always available to share his extensive knowledge of the CUT in particular and railroading in general.
This was a massive urban redevelopment project that foreshadowed the Rockefeller Center, in New York; gave Clevaland the second-tallest building in the world in 1930; and forever changed the face of Public Square and wide swaths of adjoining neighborhoods.
When the Cleveland Union Terminal was formally opened in 1930 a souvenir DEDICATION BOOK was issued, explaining the new project and showing beautiful drawings of the facility.
