Terra (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Terra is a fictional character in the DC Universe.
Though this new Terra initially believed she was a different girl who had been surgically altered to resemble the original Terra, she was told by the Time Trapper that she was not from the future at all, although she destroyed Time Trapper's messenger orb out of panic before he could elaborate further.
Terra was portrayed as an outgoing, fun-loving, tomboyish transient.

Alan Moore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Moore briefly became a media celebrity, and the resulting attention led to him withdrawing from fandom and no longer attending comics conventions (at one UKCAC in London he is said to have been followed into the toilet by eager autograph hunters).
Moore's original strip for the British Warrior comic, created in collaboration with artist David Lloyd, was designed as an homage to the spirit of the British Boys Adventure comics of the 1950s and 60s as well as referencing literary sources such as George Orwell and the anarchism of William Blake.
It was among the first comics to use the literary device of intertextuality, with V's speech often made up of extended quotes and references that are not cited.

Animation Insider - Character Discussion: Terra
Although animated Terra is glad to meet the Titans and seems to especially like Beast Boy (just like comics' Terra), she isn't all that anxious to join.
Comic Terra and animated Terra were disturbed for different reasons, but it's still virtually the same.
Although Terra is stone and still living and can breath, she can't stay alive for to long unless one of the titans goes over there and feeds her and gives her water.

Terra Obscura #1 - Shiny Shelf
'Terra Obscura' has been announced as a six-part miniseries and it seems that Moore and Hogan have a structure for those issues, but I'd say that there could be potential for an ongoing book here.
Moore has done a lot of good groundwork in creating an ABC universe and it would be sad to see this go to waste, especially since one of the few things that he has never done as a comics writer is to create characters and concepts that are designed to exist without him.
If Moore is serious about improving the general standards of mainstream action-based comics then this is something he should try, and if John Constantine is anything to go by he could be quite good at it.

Comics Ate My Brain: Terra Incognito: New Teen Titans #s 32-34 and Annual #2
It's not that Terra wasn't rude, but Kory taking offense here always seemed kind of disproportionate, even whiny, to me. For one thing, Kory has never been the thinker of the group, consistently proud of letting her emotions guide her.
Terra and Changeling take the call, and Gar's ready to go, but Terra knocks him out and races off on her own.

 BadLit » Terra Obscura
It seems most of the comics I read these days come from my local library where they have a fairly decent size graphic novel (GN) collection and it feels like they keep getting new ones all the time.
So now we come to Terra Obscura, a relatively recent (originally published in 2003) superhero comic without that 70 or 40 year backstory that comes with reading DC and Marvel comics.
Terra Obscura, though, is a Counter-Earth in Tom Strong’s “universe” and originally appeared in that series.

 Teen Titans Go! #11
The character of Terra, who betrayed the Titans in the cartoon, is shown here at a time when she was still a full-fledged, trusted member of the group.
It is a bit puzzling how the writers of this series will work Terra's betrayal into the comic since the cartoons showing the character's treachery and downfall have already been aired.
On the surface, it is just another fight between the Titans and Slade's robots but it also shows how well Terra charmed her way into the Titans' hearts, giving the whole story a rather tragic tone.

Fans of Alan Moore's ABC (America's Best Comics) imprint at DC Comics were given a diverse lot of new characters when the line launched, but something was missing: a bonafide superhero team.
The introduction to the "Terra Obscura" graphic novel reveals a large cast of characters with distinct abilities and personalities, so in order to help new readers keep track of them all, Hogan provided a brief introduction to the main characters of the series.
The size of cast- while not as large as something like DC Comics' "Legion of Superheroes" or "JSA"- could be intimidating to some writers, but Hogan just looks as the glass being that much more full.

But I suppose that since we're drawing on all of the things we loved about the Silver Age, and the way that Golden Age characters were revived then, you could say that this is a potted summary of superhero culture, as filtered through the minds of Alan and myself and lovingly garnished with oddities.
Just wanted to say Terra Obscura was one of the few good books that came out last year and I'm looking forward to it.

The story's plot was easily comprehensible yet still provided the twists and turns one hopes not to expect but are happy that they occurred when all has been said and done.

Where as the retcons, stupid continuity inclusions and lazy writing responsible for shattering everything that is known about DC's heroes affects their story.

Certainly this humanity-based approach is central to the concept, though, whether it's the universal experience of getting together with old friends or the way the characters are part of a business, not just participants in a dangerously authoritarian law enforcement process.
While Terra Obscura is based on old comic-book characters and current comic-book continuity, what it most reminds me of is the recent film Minority Report.
Moore and Hogan present the computerized Terror as a positive thing that has revitalized city life and is spreading across the country, but as the process gains approval, it's clear that there are some questions of right and wrong to be addressed with such a seemingly perfect system.
