  DVD Talk Review: Terror Train
Terror Train opens with a fraternity prank, and since this happens in a slasher flick before the opening credits, clearly something is going to go terribly, terribly wrong.
Terror Train is frequently cited as one of the better masked slashers from the early '80s, but whatever appeal it may hold escapes me. Terror Train is too boring and unsuspenseful to check it off in the "so bad, it's good" column, and the lack of scares or suspense leaves little to recommend.
Video: Terror Train is a double-sided DVD, and full-frame and anamorphic widescreen presentations of the movie are offered on opposite sides of the disc.

11 March 2004 Madrid train bombings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 11 March 2004 Madrid train bombings (also known as 11/3, 3/11, M-11 and 11-M) were a series of coordinated terrorist bombings against the commuter train system of Madrid, Spain on the morning of 11 March 2004, which killed 191 people and wounded 1,460.
Shortly afterwards, police identified an apartment in Leganés, south of Madrid, as being the base of operations for the individuals suspected of being the material authors of the Madrid and AVE attacks.
Despite Spanish Government's claims that the explosive used was titadine, a type of compressed dynamite used by ETA in recent years, forensic analysis of one of the remaining unexploded devices found at El Pozo revealed the explosive used there to be Goma-2, manufactured in Spain and not used by ETA since the 1980s.

Expressing the shock of the German investigators, Juergen Kleis, head of the Dortmund police force’s criminal department said the explosive in the suitcase his city received was capable of detonation and that there would have been many dead and wounded upon activation.
Police however have distributed 15,000 fliers asking for the public’s help in the investigation, while investigators, armed with photographs of the two deadly pieces of luggage, are traveling on both trains during the hours it is believed the suitcases were left, looking for witnesses who may have seen the culprit(s).

 Terror Train
TERROR TRAIN's biggest fault is the often excruciatingly slow pacing, and it doesn't help that the identity of the killer is telegraphed to the audience right from the opening scene.
But TERROR TRAIN is still, at best, just a footnote in the slasher sub-genre, and only ardent fans will not wish they could reclaim the 97 minutes they'll spend watching it.
Terror Train is best viewed in the wee hours of the morning over one of those microwavable chicken cordon bleu thingees and a room temperature of 76 degrees.

What makes Terror Train’s serial killer so cool is that he sports a lot of types of costumes so that no one will know who he truly is. He takes all of his victims’ costumes after he kills them so I thought it was sort of a cool concept.

 Terror Train
Terror Train has a decidedly above-average pedigree for a slasher film, but ultimately it falls just as flat as so many other films of its ilk.
Granted, the confined setting lends itself to some suspenseful sequences, so once the train gets moving, so to speak, it becomes mildly engaging; alas, it runs out of steam along the way and chugs along to a predictable finale.
Johnson, cast as the affable train conductor with a love for magic tricks, is especially helpful in making the film bearable although his screen time isn't as copious as his top billing would seem to indicate.

Also getting ready to board the train is bug eyed David Copperfield- here looking a shade less orange than usual; who is along to provide the 'entertainment' for the journey (again, please notice the brackets).

Terror Train (1980), which marked the directorial debut of film editor Roger Spottiswoode, is certainly one of the more stylish slasher flicks made in the hugely profitable wake of Halloween (1978), though its straining for respectability works as much against it as it does for it.
