Topic: Terry Becker

Becker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Becker was a CBS comedy TV show that ran from November 2, 1998 to January 28, 2004, starring Ted Danson as the title character, Dr John Becker.
Becker was annoyed by things such as a flickering street lamp outside his window, or his noisy neighbors, or the couple having sex in the apartment above him, or the numerous times he tried giving up smoking.
Becker was put on hiatus at the end of Season 5, but returned for a season of 13 episodes that helped to tie up loose ends, with the final episode airing in January 2004.

Becker works as long as he gets his comeuppance and shown for what he is: basically benevolent, but falling victim to his own impatience and short temper.
Terry Farrell is doing good as well, although I don't find her character as vital to the show as her other two costars, the blind guy or the loser dude who hangs out in the cafe.
Becker was never a perfect show, but it had an edgy quality that made it watchable over the first couple of years.

Becker was born in New York City in 1930, and he discovered as early as elementary school that acting in plays helped keep him out of trouble.
Becker vowed to leave the show, insisting that a death scene be written for his character, but Allen was unable to find a replacement actor and finally resigned Becker for more money.
Becker brought an authentic working-class New York element to the role and his work with Basehart over the next two seasons was one of the highlights of the program; the two always made sure they had at least one good, interesting dialogue scene together on each show.

Becker will be Danson's first television project since 1996's Ink, a comedy in which he played a grizzled newspaper reporter.
Though Danson's latest go at TV was cancelled quickly, ("Ink") "Becker" differs in that it was not written for Danson, according to The Hollywood Reporter."Becker" is slated for a 13 episode commitment with a fall release.
And in came [Becker], this amazing script that read like an hour show instead of a half-hour." The appeal of appearing in a half-hour show that feels like an hour seems questionable, but Danson clearly explains his logic behind choosing to portray the titular misanthropic doctor in the CBS midseason sitcom.
