Terry Gilbert Dischinger (born November 14 1940 in Terre Haute, Indiana) is an American former professional basketball player in the NBA.
Dischinger, a 6"7" forward, was made the first pick of the second round of the NBA Draft in 1962 out of Purdue University by the Chicago Zephyrs.
Dischinger is considered nationally as a leader in both functional jaw orthopedics and orthodontic technology and has lectured extensively throughout the United States.

The only drawback to Terry Dischinger was that he happened to play in the Big Ten at the same time as one of the greatest big ten teams ever, the Ohio State team of 1960-1962 and this should not be held against what he accomplished.
Some players that I feel were good college players but were given more college credit because of their pro careers were: Michael Jordan, Christian Laettner, Isiah Thomas and Tim Duncan.

Burke invited Lovellette, who is in retirement and living in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, to return to the city in the spring for the ceremony, and pointed out the rarity of three gold medalists from the same high school in an eight-year span.
