WALK ON - Official Site of the Liverpool Supporters Club (Malta)
There were suspicions during Terry McDermott’s early days at Anfield that he was destined to be a $170,000 misfit: he became instead a creative inspiration in one of the Reds’ most exhilarating combinations.
Terry went straight into the side but failed to settle as the new manager experimented in an attempt to emulate the success of the Shankly era.
Terry’s most valuable goal that term – and of his career, come to that – was the opener against Borussia Moenchengladbach in Rome where the Reds lifted Europe’s top prize so gloriously.

McDermott ended the day distraught as Newcastle were thumped 3-0, but within six months of that defeat he was joining the team who had won on the day.

RTÉ.ie Sport - McDermott blasts Bellamy in support of Souness
Terry McDermott already shares his Newcastle boss Graeme Souness' contempt for Craig Bellamy.
McDermott, installed as Souness' right-hand man at St James' Park just last week, has gone even further in his support for his old friend and his lowly opinion of a player he has no wish ever to meet.
McDermott bases his disregard for Bellamy not just on the one incident - in which the player spoke out on live television to accuse Souness of lying when he claimed the forward had feigned injury before a Barclays Premiership match at Arsenal.

McDermott is clear that he is not suggesting that Blilie should have evaded prison or that LeTourneau should be sent there.
McDermott then turns to the fast-developing area of evolutionary biology which, he says, "is spooling out ingenious Darwinian explanations of human sexual behavior: Men seek multiple sexual partners to increase their chances of reproducing; women seek them to set up a competition among sperm - may the best man win."
McDermott says that "the boy was old and wise beyond his years and points out that his own mother calls him an "old soul." LeTourneau says this does not excuse her actions, but might help explain them.

Terry returned to his native Merseyside in November 1974 when he was a few weeks short of his 23rd birthday as one of new manager Bob Paisley's earliest signings.
Although Terry played in six successive First Division games soon after his arrival, it was a frustrating time for him to be in and out of the team as he settled in at his new club.
Terry would add two more winners' medals to his collection in the world's most prestigious knock-out competition and many other team and individual honours would follow, including being named "Footballer of the Year" by the Sportswriters and his fellow footballers in 1980.

Barnes & Noble.com - Perfect Soldiers: The Hijackers: Who They Were, Why They Did It - Terry McDermott - ...
Despite the media attention paid to bin Laden, McDermott paints him not as the f hrer of terrorism, but as a rich leader with the most aggressive P.R. Bin Laden, for example had nothing to do with the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993-but he was inspired by it.
McDermott's detailed biographies of the hijackers go far beyond the characterizations of the 9/11 report, and he is skeptical of accounts that portray them as deeply disturbed: all came from intact families, most were middle-class, few were deeply religious, none were abused or estranged.
McDermott never really fulfills the promise of his subtitle to explain why they did it, aside from offering the standard bromide that they saw themselves as martyrs in a holy war.

Terry McDermott - England International Footballer - Football-Heroes.net
Once midfielder Terry McDermott had established himself at Liverpool in their treble-chasing year of 1977, it seemed inevitable that England would take a look at the confident, visionary player who had set up many of his club's goals as they ultimately took the League title and European Cup.
McDermott was helped by his domestic success, as caretaker coach Ron Greenwood decided to field a side top-heavy on Liverpool players following their club triumphs, and Terry looked polished in an otherwise rank affair which ended goalless.
In 1980, McDermott played in three internationals and was delighted, despite the added threat of Tottenham's young star Glenn Hoddle, to get a place in the England party which would contest the nation's first major finals in a decade.
