South Buffalo Township in Armstrong County was presented with the second runner-up award in the 22nd Annual Road and Bridge Safety Improvement Contest at the annual convention of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors in Hershey April 18-21 for finding a permanent fix to a safety hazard caused by reoccurring road slides.
South Buffalo Township was recognized for the cost-effective repair of two road slides on Northern Scenic Road, which is a primarily stabilized road located in the far northwest corner of the township.

Schiavo grew up in the Huntingdon Valley area of Lower Moreland Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the eldest of three children of Robert and Mary Schindler.
At the same time, Robert and Mary Schindler, Terri's parents attempted to intervene and participate in the "Terri's Law" case but were denied by Judge W. Douglas Baird, a Circuit Judge in the Florida 6th Circuit, the same circuit as for Judge George W. Greer.
In the case of Terri Schiavo, seven of the eight neurologists who examined her in her last years stated that she met the clinical criteria for PVS; the serial CT scans, EEGs, the one MRI, and finally, the pathologic findings, were consistent with that diagnosis.

It is bounded on the north by Asylum township, on the east by the Susquehanna river and Wilmot township, on the south by Wilmot, and on the west by Albany and Asylum.
It is a peculiarly shaped township, its principal lines running in a northeast and southwestern direction, forming a similar figure to a key stone placed between the township of Wilmot and Asylum.
Terrytown is situated in the northeastern portion of the township, on the banks of the Susquehanna river and New Era, situated in the south western portion of the township are villages and post towns of the township.

The Bell Landfill covers 33 acres northeast of New Albany in Terry Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania (Attachment 1).
During the 1970's, the eastern landfill was operated by the Terry Township and received municipal wastes until the late 1970's.
Between 1978 and 1979, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources (PADER) required that the western landfill be asphalt-lined and that an underground leachate collection tank be installed.
