Teslic, along with Doboj and Tesanj, is said to be the gate to Bosnia and the Balkans.
The only signs of fighting in Teslic, which now as before the war has 50,000 inhabitants, are buidlings with walls riddled with bullet-holes and shattered windows - proof that operation Teslic was carried out quickly and without resistence.
Teslic Mayor Nikola Perisic says the war has claimed the lives of 340 residents, while 700 were wounded.

The pre-war population of Teslic was 59,000; 21% were Bosniac, 55% Bosnian Serb and 16% Bosnian Croat.
8000 Bosniacs and 11,500 Bosnian Croats fled Teslic to Tesanj, Zepce, Zenica, Mostar and Croatia.
Teslic is known to be a stronghold of the hard-line Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and this was reaffirmed in elections held during 2000.

In the words of a UNHCR spokesman, the recent nocturnal events around Teslic represent the "worst human rights violation in Bosnia since the Dayton peace deal was signed in December", with 86 Muslims known to have left their homes.
The fear on Mrs Delic's face was made even worse by the presence of a foreign journalist, and she pointed constantly at the house of her Serb neighbours whom she suspects were involved in the terror campaign.
UNHCR officials found out about Teslic last week and it took them a few days to confirm that Muslim civilians were being terrorised out of their homes.

In the documentation which was gathered about this case during the war in Tesanj [Muslim controlled town near Teslic] it is claimed that the Crisis Staff of the Teslic municipality demanded the sending of "Mice" from Doboj.
Galijasevic was a mayor of Teslic before the war and the director of the local administration before the war, Boro Pastuhovic was a public official before the war, and Glancer, a Jew, was a respected craftsman and instructor.
The public prosecutor in Teslic issued an indictment against "Mice", submitted a request for an investigation to the court and recommended that the arrested members of "Mice" be kept in custody.

The mosque in Hrankovici village, Teslic, was completely levelled to the ground.
The mosque in Kamenica (Teslic) was destroyed on August 15, 1992, while the whole village was completely looted and burnt down.

I do not have exact info of the date this coat of arm was introduced, but it is undoubtedly from the period after the last war in Bosnia.
Teslic industry depended on the mountain resources (especially lumber) for decades.

In Teslic, a predominantly Serb-populated municipality, there had been hardly any awareness of the war until the beginning of May. The one- nationality authorities and police had somehow operated, while the "disloyal" policemen decided to leave for neighboring Tesanj, inhabited by a Moslem majority before the war.
They were particularly active in cleansing the suburban locality of Stenjak and the village of Rankovici where their "establishing the order" presumed driving people away and looting and burning of abandoned houses.
At the same time, woman activist and teacher Nada Radulovic was addressing over Radio Teslic the remaining non-Serbian population urging them to leave their homes in Teslic.

On 3 November, three hand grenades were thrown at two Bosniak-owned houses in the village of Gornji Teslic.
A similar pattern of grenade and arson attacks against Bosniaks in Teslic was carried out in the summer of 1996 and in the spring of 1997, resulting in 1996 in the departure of some 100 Bosniak families to the Federation.
