Particle Interconnect uses metalized coated diamond particles to form a micro "bed of nails" contact.
Flexee Particle Interconnect contacts are ideally suited for interconnect between surface mount devices and load boards, testers, programmers, as well as other repeat-insertion applications.
Our Top Loader test sockets with PI is a contactor method with effectively Zero Inductance, Capacitance and Resistance with a lifetime of up to 1 million insertions and more.

In systems consisting of many particles, be they solid bodies, fluids or gases, the constitutents are in constant, chaotic motion: the atoms in a solid crystal oscillate a bit, the molecules of a gas are in rapid, disordered motion, and so on.
The first two tests of general relativity were the comparison between prediction and observation for the perihelion advance of the planet Mercury and for the deflection of light near the Sun.
Even an incoming particle with enough energy to climb to the height A, but not to pass the peak B, can appear on the right-hand side of the hill at point C and continue onwards.

53.62 Test procedure: Full wind tunnel test.
The geometric standard deviation for each particle size generated shall not exceed 1.1 (for primary particles) and the proportion of multiplets (doublets and triplets) in all test particle atmosphere shall not exceed 10 percent of the particle population.
The size of the test particles shall be verified during this test by use of a suitable instrument (e.g., scanning electron microscope, optical particle sizer, time-of-flight apparatus).
The cross-sectional uniformity of the particle concentration in the sampling zone of the test section shall be established during the tests using an array of isokinetic samplers, referred to as a rake.

Particle Removal Efficiency Testing for Oilfield Filter Cartridges   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
One of the objectives of the particle removal efficiency test described here is to provide a repeatable and objective procedure for evaluating a filter's ability to retain test particles in a particular size distribution throughout its useful service life.
Particle retention due to adsorption is most evident when low levels of small sized particles are filtered than when higher levels are encountered; as the adsorptive sites are occupied (quenched), this mechanism of retention diminishes in importance.
The test particle concentration is predetermined by taking into account the dirt holding capacity of the filter and the length of time necessary to collect an adequate number of samples.

Verifying Particle Counter Calibration: Size Verification
Note the test particle sizes used are not precisely the same as the particle counter bin sizes.
Since PSL particles can’t be made arbitrarily close to their nominal sizes, a 10-micron particle standard may actually be labeled as 9.975 microns.
The particle counter calibration curve is generated by interpolating a number of these ‘close to nominal’ PSL particles to generate a chart for the ‘even’ values that are usually programmed.

 Contamination Control Testing Instruments Summary
Surface resistivity or resistance to ground is tested by placing two probes connected to a megohmmeter on the surface of the sample and reading the resistivity in ohms/square.
A multi-range test unit allows for th testing of continous grounding devices such as wristwraps, heel grounders, grounding cords and ESD footwear.
The test unit allows for both a visual and audible test result to determine if an item is within specifications for ground integrity and polarity and can also detect intermittent failures associated with a continuous ground system device.

Performance Characteristics of Pall Ultramet-L™ Gaskleen® Filters
The particle shedding testing (see position #2 in Figure II) was done during the initial purge test, pulse flow test, baking tests and final purge test and used filtered nitrogen gas with flows of 10 slpm or 100 slpm as called for in the particular tests.
In this testing, the flow through the assemblies was varied from 10 slpm (200 seconds) to 100 slpm (160 seconds) and the particles were monitored downstream during the flow pulsing.
The particle shedding of the filter assemblies was monitored during temperature cycling between 50 °C and 460 °C. The flow through the filters was 10 slpm for the temperature cycling period.

Impact of Test Dust Changes on Filter Performance
The new test dusts are currently being manufactured by Powder Technology Incorporated (PTI), however, as opposed to the AC Rochester ball mill method, PTI processes the Arizona dust with a jet mill.
Particle counts are taken, both upstream and downstream of the filter, throughout the multi-pass test.
These particle counts are used to calculate the efficiency, expressed as a filtration or Beta ratio (upstream count divided by downstream count at a given particle size), and are obviously dependent on the APC calibration.

 Descriptions of Tests
The particle size analysis consist of the percentage of gravel, sand, silt, and clay including the fine sand fractions.
This is the deluxe quality control test of a greensmix and tests for all the physical quality properties considered important by the USGA for a greensmix.
The gravel particle size test determines is the gravel used for these two methods passes USGA requirements which are based on adequate drainage and prevention of rootzone particle migration into the gravel.

 Testing
Such an aerosol is useful for field testing for leaks and ensuring the integrity of an installation, however, without the ability to particle count the 0.3 micron size particles, "cold" DOP does not provide the ultimate test of filter efficiency.
The smaller the particle, the lower the efficiency until the maximum penetrating particle size is reached.
For each test, particle counters are calibrated to simulaneously count the number of 0.3 micron particles both upstream and downstream of the filter.

 Cholesterol Particle Test
The cholesterol particle test, which measures the size of the LDL particles, is a test not ordered routinely.
Jim Kleczka, Medical Director of Cardiology Inpatient Services at the Medical College of Wisconsin, tells me that he usually requests the LDL particle test when he has a patient with heart disease and a normal cholesterol level.
For instance, if a patient is already on a cholesterol-lowering medication, knowing the results of an LDL particle test will not change the doctor's plan of care, since there isn't a medicine specifically made to change the LDL particle profile.
