Testimony - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Testimony may be oral or written, and it is usually made by oath or affirmation under penalty of perjury.
Unless a witness is testifying as an expert witness, testimony in the form of opinions or inferences is generally limited to those opinions or inferences that are rationally based on the perceptions of the witness and are helpful to a clear understanding of the witness' testimony.
In Mormonism, testifying is also referred to as "bearing one's testimony," and often involves the sharing of personal experience—ranging from a simple anecdote to an account of personal revelation—followed by a statement of belief that has been confirmed by this experience.

The Book of Mormon (properly titled The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ) is a sacred book of scripture that testifies of Jesus Christ and explains the Lord's dealings with His people in the ancient Americas.

He told Joseph that “there was a book deposited, written upon gold plates, giving an account of the former inhabitants of this continent,” and that it contained the “fullness of the everlasting Gospel [...] as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants” (Joseph Smith—History 1:34).

New Book Examines Controversy Over Childrens Testimony
While the book focuses on children's testimony in sexual abuse cases, its message is relevant for the entire range of cases involving children as witnesses, including acrimonious custody decisions, neglect proceedings and witnesses to crimes.
Whenever possible (and as soon as possible) interviews with children in cases where sexual abuse is suspected should be electronically preserved (audio- or videotaped), ideally from the first interview on -- not just transcripts or notes and not just from the point when a child begins to disclose.
However, they also note that it would be ethically impermissible to interview children in the laboratory as intensively as they have been in real cases, much less to sexually abuse them in the name of science.

I would be surprised to hear Protestants in general bear testimony based on prayer and spiritual experiences that Martin Luther's doctrine of justification by faith alone was in fact a true and correct interpretation of the Bible.
I also have received a personal witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, as is the Bible, but that spiritual witness continues to be amplified by my intellectual explorations into the text and the evidences of its authenticity.

Music under Soviet rule: The Shostakovich Debate: A Manual for Beginners
The basis of the book is correct." MacDonald further argued that a contextual approach to Shostakovich (until then largely neglected in Western studies of the composer) emphatically supported the essential authenticity of Testimony.
At its simplest, revisionism consists of the view that Shostakovich was, for much of his life, in conflict with the Soviet regime; and that, as such, his actions, creative and personal, betoken a man of considerable moral stature whose associated thoughts and feelings are tangible in his music, in ways both general and particular.
Among such close associates, the view of Shostakovich is generally commensurate with that given in Testimony, although a distinction is often made between the essential veracity of the picture of Shostakovich given in Testimony and the literal authenticity of the book as presented by Solomon Volkov.
