In the US military, the Air National Guard (ANG), as part of the National Guard, is the organized militia of a particular US state and is a reserve of the US Air Force (USAF), too.
As Federally-organized militia, Air National Guard units are liable to activation by both the President of the United States and the governors of the several states.
The Air National Guard is part of the National Guard Bureau which administers both the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard.
