Texas Rangers pitcher Frank Francisco pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of misdemeanor aggravated assault for throwing a chair at the wife a heckling Oakland A's fan last month and breaking her nose.
Francisco's lawyer, Richard Minkoff, entered the plea in Alameda County Superior Court on behalf of the pitcher, who is at home in the Dominican Republic.
The Texas Rangers are expected to help him get another visa in time for spring training in February, but Francisco would probably have to return sooner if the case goes to trial.
