  The Texas School Book Depository
he Texas School Book Depository building still appears much as it did the day of the assassination, although the famous Hertz time-temperature sign on the roof and the northwest stairway -- used by Oswald after the shooting -- are in storage.
Most Depository workers used the parking lot of this smaller warehouse, and it was here that Lee Harvey Oswald and his "bulky package" arrived in a co-worker's car on the morning of the assassination.
In 1977, the Depository was purchased by Dallas County in recognition of its historic significance, and to prevent potential private exploitation of the tragedy.

Texas School Book Depository - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Texas School Book Depository is the former name of a seven-floor building located on Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas.
In 1963, the building, originally constructed in 1901, was in use, as implied in its former name, as a multi-floor warehouse for the storage of school textbooks and related materials and an order-fulfillment center by a private business of the same name.
The first five floors of the building have been retrofitted for use as an office building; the sixth and seventh floors are open to the public (for an admission charge) as a museum of the assassination which is called The Sixth Floor Museum.

The committee concluded that the rifle found on the sixth floor of the book depository was the murder weapon.
Since all were outside the depository when the shots were fired, their statements that it took them about 2 minutes to get to the second floor were reasonable.
The committee found that while most of the depository employees were outside of the building at the time of the assassination and returned inside afterwards, Oswald did the reverse; he was inside before the assassination, and afterward he went outside.

The error cone's intersection of the southern-face of the Depository can be described as an ellipse (due to the angle of the cone in relation to the building) that is approximately 26 feet in diameter.

The role of the elderly negro as the Depository shooter is consistent with the evidence of US military cryptographer Eugene B. Dinkin that the assassination was originally intended to have been blamed upon EITHER a fl man or a Communist.
However, within fifteen minutes of the assassination the federal government agencies that had nurtured the local racist conspiracy to kill Kennedy intervened to ensure that a white man was identified instead as the shooter.
