TextPad is well worth the $32, and if you have a 4.x license, it's a free upgrade.
The best thing about TextPad 4 is that it works on "486 computers" with "Windows 95" wich I used one for 2 muts ago wen I bot a new coputer.
I made my home page with TextPad The home page www.seekload.co.nr but to be able to do it i had to make my own textpad by puting in my own funktions.

 Living without TextPad | And all that Malarkey
In countless demonstrations, my firing up TextPad to edit a CSS or XSLT results in a web designer gasping, followed by "What is that?" or "That is so cool!" So to help with my decision, I thought I'd share why I think that TextPad is the coolest editor for PC based web-standards and CSS designers.
TextPad's clip library palette is the feature that I use the most.
The one thing I miss from Textpad the most is probably the easy to use/find "block select" mode, although frankly I haven't found the need for it as much with BBEdit.

TextPad allows you to setup multiple document classes, which allows the editor to behave a little differently depending on the type of file.
I use a TextPad tool to run this file and assign it to Alt-A. This will need edited, as paths to the program files may differ, and could be extended to include additional analysis programs.

On the hand, TextPad is generally a less powerful than the Win32 editor I use the most (Boxer 99, which costs about twice as much as TextPad).
TextPad is also strictly Win32; it does not have a Win16 version, let alone ones for Linux, OS/2, MacOS, or other platforms (for one cross-platform and open-source option, see my review of FTE).
In general TextPad consists of a paned interface that includes a "Clip Library", "Document Selector", MDI document windows, various optional toolbars, and (my favorite) filetabs that show the set of open documents.

David, We chose not to focus much on TextPad bceuase of the wealth of Linux based text editors that frankl contained more features and were alread in heavy use.
This is why TextPad is still an unsupported application under Crossover.
TextPad is an excellent choice for a crossover project.
