		The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality is (as of 5 December 2000) a metropolitan area mostly in Gauteng province, South Africa, that includes the city of Pretoria.
		Tshwane is a cross-border municipality, which includes parts of North West Province, such as Ga-Rankuwa.
		Although the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality was created in 2000, prior to that, a military base in the city (formerly called Voortrekkerhoogte, after the Voortrekkers), was renamed Thaba Tshwane (or Thaba Tswane).

		Thaba Tshwane was built on dolomite land and with virtually no upgrade or renovations during the last two to three decades, poses serious structural and maintenance problems for the DoD and DPW.

		That Tshwane does not exist on maps and due to the meaning of Tshwane as 'we are one because we live together' and is not a name with any political form, makes it in my mind eminately more suitable than any other suggested to date.

		The wife, whose name has not been revealed, was in a critical condition at 1 Military Hospital after she was shot several times in the stomach, head and body, the police said.
		Her husband, whose name was also not released, then returned home and cut his wrists in a suicide attempt.

		According to oral tradition or stories Chief Tshwane was one of the sons of Chief Mushi or Msi from KwaZulu Natal.

	South African Army Flags
		A new badge for the Army comprises the new nine-pointed star outline in yellow and in the centre of which is army emblem of a lion's head surrounded by three lionesses' heads, also in yellow.
		The emblem is in the lower fly of the new Army flag which was officially taken into use at a Defence Force parade held at Thaba Tshwane near Pretoria on 29 April 2003.
		Following the adoption of new Army badge and rank insignia in March 2000 which resulted in the Castle of Good Hope outline being dropped, a new flag for the South African Army was introduced in April 2002.

	IOL: Venter's court martial to continue in Burundi
		The military judge presiding in Venter's Burundi trial earlier said in the Thaba Tshwane Military Court that if Loots could not make it to Burundi, the SANDF would appoint a defence counsel who could just read Loots's prepared arguments to the military court as both parties had earlier closed their cases.
