In my opinion, this is one of Ontario's most beautiful bridges, and without a weight limit I would guess that it will be around for a long time to come.

A Committee formed by caring residents of Thamesville and Area, worked hard to have this Cenotaph, which was carved from a single piece of gray granite by the Thompson Memorial Company of Toronto, Erected in time for the Remembrance Day Services of 1936.
It was placed near the main intersection of the Village, on the grounds of the Thamesville "Town Hall".
The "Cenotaph Committee" took care of the Monument until it was turned over to the newly formed Legion Branch, 367 that was established in 1946, which has taken care of it since.

 Via Passenger Train Crashes in Thamesville, Ontario
The accident involved VIA Rail train number 74 consisting of 4 passenger cars hauled by a single locomotive.
Two of the crew, the engineer and a trainee engineer were killed in the train which was travelling from Windsor, Ontario to Toronto.
In a statement, VIA Rail said that some 100 passengers were taken to local hospitals, adding "no passenger fatalities have been reported and all but two passengers have either been released or will be shortly".

He had not yet accrued the wealth that was to mark his son as a rich boy; the Davieses were small-town, middle-class folks, with theatrical and musical interests that made them somewhat different from the rest of the community but in essence hard-working Presbyterians like their neighbors.
Thamesville and Renfrew may have been places of misery for the young Davies, but as inspirations for Deptford and Blairlogie they are marvelous.

THAMESVILLE, Ontario (CNN) -- A Via Rail passenger train derailed and slammed into four stationary cars in southwestern Ontario Friday, killing at least two people and injuring dozens more.
Both of those who died in the noontime collision in Thamesville were crew members on the train, Via Rail officials said.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the accident of the eastbound train, which was carrying 175 passengers and eight crew members on a daily route from Windsor to Toronto.

First, I had to wait for my doctor's office to open, then I had to request that he call in a prescription to a St Clair pharmacy to substitute for the medication that I forgot.
They kept looking at us, until finally one of them said that she had to know where we were coming from and going to.
We filled her in on our Williamston to Thamesville route and the two of them asked several questions about how far we would travel each day and how long we had been touring by bicycle.
