	Thanet (district)
		Thanet is a local government district of Kent, England which was formed under the Local Government Act 1972, and came into being on 1 April of 1974.
		The district was formed by the merger of Margate and Ramsgate municipal boroughs with Broadstairs and St Peter's urban district and part of Eastry Rural District.
		The district is bordered by the City of Canterbury district to west, and the Dover district to the south.

		Thanet residents should be given the choice and opportunity to shop for high quality goods within the district and should not be forced to travel long distances to purchase their chosen goods.

	Thanet Disability Forum Information
		Thanet District Council has had the kerbs of many bus stops raised to enable not only people in wheelchairs to access the bus, but other passengers including elderly persons and those with children in pushchairs.
		Thanet District Council has been made aware of this situation by Forum member Tim Finch and will be taking additional enforcement action against drivers who park on a bus stop clearway from Monday 11 June.
		Thanet Disability Forum has written to local supermarkets providing disabled parking bays to ask what measures they are taking to ensure that these spaces are not being used by able bodied people.

	Thanet Local Strategic Partnership
		The activities of Thanet’s LSP are co-ordinated by a Board of both ‘required’, (because of the position they hold), and elected members.
		The LSP is keen to support projects that support the development of Thanet and unanimously endorsed the Thanet Fairtrade Initiative, which continues to work towards Thanet becoming a Fairtrade Isle.

	Steve Ladyman MP
		He was moved by the dereliction and areas of deprivation that he saw in places that have a great history and set about doing something to put things right.

	Objections to the Revised Thanet Local Plan
		Until January 2003, Thanet District Council was committed to retaining Dreamland.
		Thanet District Council has rejected the recommendations of the independent government inspector, who had stated that Dreamland must remain an amusement park.
