	Tharavadu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Tharavadu is a system of joint family practised by people in Kerala, south India, especially castes like Namboothris, Nairs and Ezhavas.
		The Tharavadu was administered by Karnavar, the senior most male member of the family.
		One peculiarity of nair tharavadu was that they were built always quite deep into the landed property owned by the tharavadu and almost in the middle of the main property.
